Censors celebrated: misinformation and disinformation down under : Comments

By Binoy Kampmark, published 26/3/2024

In Australia, we see the tech-utopians being butchered, metaphorically speaking, on our doorstep. Of concern here is the Communications Legislation Amendment (Combating Misinformation and Disinformation) Bill 2023.

It seems to be underway already, On Sky TV last night a post on X was
reported as been removed as a result of our E-Commissioner requesting it. The people at Sky got legal advise on whether they could show the
post as it appeared on X. She opposed the post because it might upset
a trans something.
They made no direct comment but did show a reduced in size copy that
could not be read but they discussed the contents.

So I just wonder how we stand here ?
As we cannot delete a post we could only apologise for what we might
have written but Graham could be ordered to remove our offending post.

Just reading some of our posts I am certain I will have offended.
Have you offended ?
I think Albo is stupid in this matter of mis & dis but then that is
along his normal practise.
Whoops sorry Graham she will be after you.
