Labor ‘quarantines’ states from Covid accountability : Comments

By Scott Prasser, published 25/9/2023

It fails on every count of what constitutes a best-practice open, independent public inquiry into a calamitous national event such as the Covid-19 pandemic.

As the old warhorse, Bronwyn Bishop said - and actually laughed - it's a joke. A farce to be headed by some unknown chief of staff of some forgotten ALP politician. No powers. No nothing. It just shows the extent of the contempt Commonese has for the electorate. Mind you, the way Australians lay down and accepted lockdowns and other totalitarian treatment does invite contempt. Freedom was rejected for 'safety'. It went very well - not.

I believe the enquiry will achieve what labor wants it to achieve, sheet home any and all blame on the then conservative government.

Albeit, they responded as well or better than most governments.

And acts as another distraction from what they are not doing, won't do about inflation and the ever-rising cost of energy, and all that flows economically from that!

It's more of the old don't look at us and how ineffective we are, because of what we won't put on the table, i.e., nuclear energy, as MSR thorium/MSR nuclear waste burners, burn waste we are paid annual millions to take!

And with the above bring power prices to 3 cents PKWH or lower. And with that outcome kill inflation dead in its tracks/reverse it big time!

If anybody thinks our governmnets were hiding in dark corners, thinking up dastardly plots to inconvenience and harrass the people, think again.
Yes, it is true that they made mistakes.
But overall their intention was to safeguard the population from the effects of an infection which could have rivalled the 'spanish flu'.
So they did their best, working in the dark most of the time.
Could YOU have done better?
It is just plain stupidity to showcase any shortcomings, and ignore the overall thrust they made towards safety.
But there will always be some who favour such narrow-mindedness.
It gives them something to talk about.
And vaccines were devised and produced 'quick-smart' too, which means a lot of credit it due to that group.
Are they getting it? And are you getting it?
It seems to me that there are so many ungrateful persons making noises, that those who pioneered such a good result must wonder why they even bothered.

Not to forget the many who deliberately worked against keeping the community safe. None of them are being singled out for possibly being responsible for deaths !
