By Ordan Andreevski, published 13/7/2023

NATO claims it is a defensive but its track record is of offensive wars in Europe and the Middle East.

A spot on article by Ordan, NATO is the puppet of US imperialism, totally controlled by American self-interest. For Albanese all I can say is, you are a fool, who should get Australia's arse out of these American controlled alliances.

International law means nothing without some means of enforcing it. By now China would be firing at ships in the South China Sea if there was no chance of retaliation. NATO seems to have vindicated its existence as long as Ukraine remains independent.

The North Atlantic bit may have to be changed if it is going global. Currently the world has two serious aggressive autocrats in Putin and Xi Jinping. In ten years they'll probably be gone so the whole political landscape will change.

Another Macedonian sounding off.

How could Australia's engagement with NATO not be in our national interest! It is certainly in our national interest in relation to China, and more important than giving away military equipment that we don't have enough of for our own defence to corrupt Ukraine.

What we don't need is an embarrassment like Albanese doing the engaging.

"Australian society has been indoctrinated by the military industrial complex, the security state and the mainstream media to support ties with the US and NATO without scrutiny and risk analysis".

Hardly. The mention of the Leftist MSM being involved immediately shows this writer up as one who doesn't have a clue what he is talking about, except for his comments on the Ukraine 'war'.

The deal to sell equipment to Germany is the only thing that Albanese can be "delighted about" about so far in his dictatorship; although that would be down to people other than ignorant politicians like him. It's also good that German troops will be training here and in the region, clearly signalling that Germany/Europe is well aware of the China threat, not just down here, but to Europe and the West in general.

"Most Australians and civil society want peace", announces your man. So we do. But we have to be militarily strong, with strong like-minded allies, to ensure that peace.

"Is NATO expansion in the Asia-Pacific good for the region?". Of course. What an ignorant question.

Andreevski even mentions the unhinged Paul Keating - recently praised by Communist China for the rubbishing that the has-been is giving his country lately - to support his wacko arguments.

What a load of tosh

Given a choice between NATO and China or Russia, then it's NATO for me, the Ukraine and most of Scandinavia.

And we must remove the blinkers and prepare for war. Of course, nobody wants a war!

We never wanted the last two, but, found ourselves committed and fighting for a principle against Nazi aggression.

Good article, except the last sentence.

"Instead of NATO, we need a new security and development architecture based on mutual respect, cooperation, sustainable development and human rights."

I'm willing to put sustainable development and human rights on hold until the world can figure out all this Unipolar V's Multipolar business.
- After all until it's properly sorted plenty will end up dying anyway.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shanghai_Cooperation_Organisation
>>At the Dushanbe summit, members agreed to "oppose intervention in other countries' internal affairs on the reason of 'humanitarianism' and 'protecting human rights;' and support the efforts of one another in safeguarding the five countries' national independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and social stability."<<

I say NO to NATO in the Pacific, and I'm sure the Asians won't be please about Westerners trying to rule them
China will end up lashing out at some point if the west keeps pushing, and the US will get smacked down.

It's as certain as Japan attacking Pearl Harbor after US provocations.

Ukraine is losing badly, you know why we don't hear about the great success of JDAM and HARM missiles?
- Because they are useless, Russia jams them and they fall out of the sky.
The US is going to get whats coming to it, if it keeps it up.
- And we don't want to be a part of it, despite what some fools here think.

They think that 25million Aussies in the region gives us the last word on how things should and should not be.
This is China's neck of the woods, not Americas.

Go home USA, or meet your fate in the Mariana Trench

I support Russia zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

What a nasty piece of work you are, ttbn!

I find the few Macedonians here (well those who've identified themselves as such) to be some of the most thoughtful and well-informed contributors on this site.

Thank you, Orban, for a pithy and succinct analysis of the current geopolitical situation. I agree with all you've said, apart from your dig at the German Greens!

Albanese is a total fool, who's had his head completely turned by all the global stage-strutting he's been engaging in. Australia should have nothing to do with NATO, either in Europe or in the Indo-Pacific. And we should not be sending weaponry to Ukraine.

Albanese needs to start absorbing some of Keating's wisdom. By all accounts, there are considerable numbers within Labor's ranks who are becoming increasingly uneasy about AUKUS and the Yankee militaristic drum-beating Albanese is throwing himself into with such naive gusto.

Hopefully, they can break ranks soon and start questioning the foolhardy decisions their party is making.
