Hobart’s planned new stadium: a sad case of pleasing policy elites rather than public opinion : Comments

By Chris Lewis, published 2/5/2023

When the PM was asked at a press conference on April 29 why the stadium was going ahead in the face of public opposition, he noted the prowess of political leaders knowing what was best for the national interest.

The Tasmanian government-or at least it's lefty leader-supports the Voice. Much more important to the rotter Albanese than whether or not people are "struggling". It's all about Marxist ideology and Albanese himself, not about Australians and Australia. You need only to remember all his whining about being dragged up by a single mother in public housing to know what the horrible little oik is up to.

Tasmania has innumerable traffic black spots due to narrow winding roads often used by log trucks going full tilt. The stadium will add to that tally. The 250 mill could go a long way to fixing the existing traffic hazards.

The adjoining public housing may be intended to dispel the elitism idea. I imagine with both harbour and mountain views the waiting list will be quite long. Then yuppies will buy them out. Note that Albo is overriding the views of the Tasmanian ALP. Building monuments to oneself shouldn't let the opinions of others get in the way.
