If you win the battle over your judiciary 'reforms', you lose, as the public will never stand for it which you have just seen.

There is something to be said for shooting protesters.

When the US was deeply involved in destabilising Chile in the 1973 Coup d'état, murdering protesters was the “go-to” for Pinochet .

How times change.

Now, it’s left wing nut jobs are supported by CIA destabilisation in Israel.

We really should leave these obsessives to their ramblings. Nobody of consequence takes any notice of them.

Agree with most of this except the part where this, I believe, criminal escapes deserved jail time. Nobody is above the law. Do the crime and do the time!

"It is time to look in the mirror and ask yourself: Where do I go from here?"

Before judging Netanyahu, it is indeed time for each one of us to look in the mirror:

Can anyone here say, with hand on heart, that if they were about to go to jail but could prevent it by destroying their country, they would not do so?!

I cannot.

The key person here is Israel's president, Isaac Herzog.
With a stroke of his pen he could pardon Netanyahu and by doing so this nightmare will end and Israel can be saved.

This is not to say that Netanyahu is innocent and deserves to be pardoned, he probably isn't, but Israel deserves it.

Should Netanyahu be pardoned, then he could afford to resign and leave politics. Alternately, he could kick out his current coalition partners and form a different new coalition government with the center parties whose main election promise was to never participate in or support a coalition headed by a prime-minister with serious criminal charges pending.

No Alan, the vast majority of people are not a Gandhi - anyone who is willing to do jail time when they can avoid it, must be a saint. Expecting such a thing is completely unrealistic.

Other than continuing to destroy Israel, and other than committing suicide, Netanyahu still has one more way to avoid jail - to ask the president for a pardon, and this he must do!
