The green theory is everything is better when you soak the rich. The problem is that this has been disproven again and again. The innovators and entrepreneurs are what drive economic growth, not union flunkeys.

When Thatcher took over in 1979 Britain suffered under the socialist policies of Labor. The country was almost bankrupt and its GDP ranked 4th or 5th in the EU. Thatcher's changes supercharged the economy to one of the fastest growing in Europe to the point where its GDP is second only to Germany.
