That was in essence the same as the author's and Shihabi's Saudi plan.

Abdullah's reaction was “I thought I was having a heart attack, I couldn’t breathe. I was bent doubled-over.”

The article further explains: "Trump thought he would be doing the Jordanian king a favor, not realizing that it would destabilize his country".

We may never find out whether Trump did so recklessly or was he deliberately attempting to destroy Israel and grant Putin's Russia full control of the Mediterranean sea. Perhaps he idiotically thought that it would save him a few billion dollars a year?

Biden and Blinken on the other hand, are not total fools, nor do they hate Israel or support Putin, and unlike Donald Trump, they do listen to their strategic advisers. We should therefore be confident that they would never agree to Shihabi's evil schemes. They will probably not even bother to mention that foul scheme - just another paper rubbish in their garbage bin.

Israel survived and defeated many hostile schemes - it will defeat this one as well.
