Sorry, 'ALL' should have been 'ANY', my mistake.

Armchair,
The thing about siphons is water in them goes down more than it goes up. As for China, the intention is to prevent a conflict. The people of Taiwan deserve to remain free from the corruption of the Chinese Communist Party. Xi needs to know he has more to lose from starting a war than he has to gain. Militarism wrecks, not bolsters, the US financial system. No point in our making TVs now China has taken the value out of value adding. But we may want to look at alternative sources such as Malaysia and Indonesia. Posted by Aidan, Tuesday, 6 September 2022 1:24:49 AM

Hey Aiden,
"The thing about siphons is water in them goes down more than it goes up." Yes I'm aware of that, that's why I referred to it as a 'vacuum siphon' I don't know what else to call it, but the water goes up, not down. Watch the video and see for yourself. The water gets pumped up, with no other form of energy used to do so. Here's the link again, take a look for yourself. http://youtu.be/dV9B_yWgYEs Posted by Armchair Critic, Saturday, 10 September 2022 8:14:05 AM

I did watch the video the first time. You seem to have failed to notice the water pipe does go down at the end (the gradient is quite gentle but the pipe is long) and a significant amount of water was pumped up into the tank to start with.
I know you'd like the water to go up not down, but as Scotty said: We cannae change the laws of physics! Posted by Aidan, Saturday, 10 September 2022 11:17:30 AM

Doesn't that solve all the water / dam / energy problems?
I don't know if it would work, or maybe the right question is what would it take to make it work.
What if you had several thousand of these gadgets -
http://youtu.be/dV9B_yWgYEs
- All working at zero energy cost to take the water from a lower holding pond at the bottom of the dam and 'vacuum syphoning'? it back up into the dam, so that the dam doesn't actually use ALL excess water at all, as its all a closed system.
That way it actually just becomes one giant battery, that never runs out of water or power.
As for China, stop trying to create conflicts with them.
If the west respected the One China policy as it says it does, then you wouldn't go sailing military ships up the Taiwan strait, as under the One China policy that you claim to respect and support, you'd accept that the Taiwan Strait is Chinese territory.
I don't care how good for business creating conflicts is for the US so it can sell weapons as it has just done, or bolstering the US financial system, which it also uses to make wars on others.
No one wants to die for stupid needless wars provoked by a belligerent USA for no good reason.
- They doesn't even make TV's anymore, we get most of the stuff to support our current standard of living from China, so just stop it already.
