Is Twiggy Forrest serious about a major green energy investment in Papua New Guinea? : Comments

By Jeffrey Wall, published 2/9/2022

But the 'elephant in the room' when it comes to investment in Papua New Guinea relates to the intentions of one of our richest industry leaders, Andrew Twiggy Forrest.

Reliable, affordable energy is essential for all industrial development there, here and everywhere! For PNG it is hydro development on the Fly? For us it is, MSR thorium. To believe and or espouse otherwise? Mad hatter tea party thinking. TBC.

The only climate change consideration to be understood for PNG is the new climate of desperation of the European for gas supplies to get them through this winter, without the need to source black market Russian gas from China at three times the price.

PNG has exploited some of its vast gas reserves already, and one would think they are smart enough to capitalise on the dumbness of the “Mad Hatters” of the western leadership, with a bent on self destruction and and advanced miles towards genocide of the poor, frozen to death in frigid apartments, ( if in fact there lucky enough to have one to live in)!

While those of us that are left to suffer the indignity of the Bidens of this world, inclusive of our own latest resurrection of the Mad Hatter party, led by mummy’s boy, are less tolerant of old presentations of established and outdated oligarchs such as Twiggy and his cushy life in the shade of the rainbow flags climate change wing!

Why Australia is losing the war against Chinese encroachment is its weak and self centred leadership, viewed from the Pacific islands as unstable and totally unreliable.

Give us a break mate!

Whatever goes on between Australia and PNG, or any other country, should be government to government. Big Business and politicians are just too tight these days. Corporations are interested in their fortunes; governments should be looking after their constituents' fortunes.

The problems of the global economy have been caused by corporations and governments being too close.

Mr. Forrest's interests are his own, not Australia's; he has form on siding with Communist China because of his interests in that totalitarian country. He even appallingly pushed a Communist spokesman into an Australian government press conference - and got away with it!

The Chinese are an old civilization who have used up their natural and minable resources over thousands of years. Hence their need to look elsewhere for all the above. And the CCP don't give a rat's who they hurt or kill as they plunder at will their resources? As for Twiggy, I believe he's a decent cove who cares about indigenous people. Particularly if there's a quid in it? Twiggy is not alone doing deals with the Chinese! But practically all business enterprise here and our government who jump for the Chinese, by keeping our service economy?

Won't transition to nuclear, because that would end our dependance on China for the bulk of our manufactured goods! I mean every boy and his dog knows one needs affordable energy to have industrial development! You can't have one without the other! Not even value adding or downstream processing.

When China takes over this country as it probably will? Obsessing over rainbow flags like a mad monkey rattling his cage, won't prevent that nor restart manufacture in this country! Nor will refusing to vote, given it is the only power we the people without an irrevocable bill of rights have to alter, throw out incompetent or corrupt or willfully blind, Chinese butt sucking, governments!

It's not a question of not looking at MSR thorium, but, I believe, one of (die in a ditch first) won't!?

Any fool with the gift of the gab can promise anything to the electorate, pre-election! Like making stuff here again. And given the current cost of coal-fired power, not without massive, taxpayer funded subsidies! For which there is no mandate!

And likely given our politicians have political masters jerking their strings! Who say, NO, NO, NO. YOU CANNOT HAVE NUCLEAR POWER! End of story!

And claim, it's dirty, unsafe and creates massive waste. All true if what's proposed is (50s) conventional nuclear. And totally incorrect given the proposal is not conventional but MSR thorium. Which comes with huge medical, cancer cure, upsides as well as the world's Cheapest, cleanest, safest power! And an industrial renaissance that will need to be seen to be believed!

Build batteries and electric cars here, PM? Well, you need to, I believe, remove the self-applied nuclear blinkers first, pull fingers out of ears and stop roaring La, La, La so you cannot hear what is being said!?

Just because you're full of it? Doesn't mean others are also!

One remembers Lance Handcock who went to minister after minister (rocks for brains) for funding to get iron ore mining established in the west, only to receive platitudes etc., when the usual disbelief was the reaction to claim of mountains of iron ore so pure, one could weld lumps of it together.

Now the same political incredulity is holding us back from power prices as low as 1 cent PKWH, as well as the spun off miracle cancer cure, bismuth 213! I kid you not!

See LFTR in five minutes.

We came out of WW11 with, unrivaled in real terms even today, debt! And yet found the money to build the massive snowy scheme!

It was cheap energy alone and only that paid off the cost of building the snowy and building a ROBUST LOCAL MANUFACTURING SECTOR! You cannot have one without the other!

We need the same, now missing, visionary, Australia first, thinking to rebuild a banana republic, debt riddled economy set to stagnate for decades! Because of governmental timidity, when what is required is bold resolute visionary thinking and real leadership, instead of feel-good talk feasts. And setting up to win the next election, putting the political boot in, as the only real priority!

For a robust economic recovery? We need industrial scale transition to MSR thorium and power prices as low as, 1 cent PKWH. Nothing else comes even close!

And a removal of the self-imposed idiocy of a nuclear embargo!

Thorium delivers everything fusion promised but never ever delivered!

Should we wait until fusion power is a done deal? And that could be anytime or until the 12th of never!?

Only if you've got manure for brains. And if the cap fits?

Don't just do something, stand there.
