What does the Bible say to the USA? : Comments

The words of the prophet Hosea seemed to reach out to me from the pages of his book. It was a remarkable experience because in previous readings I had not paid much attention to what Hosea wrote.

Whatever the Bible 'says' to the USA, it's up to the USA and Americans to deal with it. They are still more interested in the Bible than post-Christian Australia is.

I must say that there has not been much evidence of that lately in Eastern Europe.

That's just one mans opinion and interpretation! I've no doubt that from time to time some individuals may be divinely inspired, and have little doubt that that "claimed" inspiration is usually coloured by the then current social mores and inculcated cultural belief? But particularly, sexual license.

Moreover, the biblical story of an exodus from Egypt and the story about the 14 commandments, may be overturned by evidencial archology? Not very much of, I believe, the bible can be claimed to be divinely inspired?

I am still (patiently) waiting for the first returnee to tell us how wonderful he/she/it is.
