There are more important things to spend taxpayers' money on.

We are the 13th. richest country in the world and we don't have a significant defence force.

If two people want to get married then let them.
It does not hurt you or me.

I completely agree, but the question is whether Court's achievements should be ignored because she has spoken against same-sex marriage. I disagree with her views on this (and many other things) but that is no reason to "cancel" her.

Equally, though, Scott Prasser should not distort the facts to misrepresent the level of support for same-sex marriage. His argument that "At the 2017 non-compulsory postal ballot 50 per cent of Australians did not support or vote for this proposal" adds abstentions to "no" notes.

In fact, 62% of people who voted supported same-sex marriage. Turnout was 80%, which for a voluntary (and not legally binding) vote on a single issue is very high. To lump together people who didn’t vote with those who voted “no” is completely misleading. One could with equal (in)validly say that: “At the 2017 non-compulsory postal ballot 70 per cent of Australians supported or did not vote against this proposal.”
