How is it that 'Independence" from the cruel, white, colonial masters became "dependence" on the cruel, white, colonial masters?

Makes you wonder why colonialism had such a bad name?

My perception is that Jeffrey Wall was one of those Australian bureaucrats who made good money when they steered PNG towards the ever decreasing economic spiral & now want to make money again from asking others to sort out their mess !

The comments by individual are as useful and interesting as the one posted by loans and mortgages.

About as relevant and researched as well .

LEGO , PNG's colonial masters were replaced by the 'Big Men' . At least Australian officials were not corrupt like the Big Men !

I recall an Indigenous leader once saying on National Broadcast "If the Government gave us more money we could be financially independent" .
