Lying in public life: the Scott Morrison formula : Comments

By Binoy Kampmark, published 15/11/2021

Prior to heading to Glasgow, Morrison, having done his bit of crossdressing on the climate change front, was coy. He refused to reveal the modelling that went into the fabulous predictions of net-neutral utopia.

Whichever way you want to put it, the truth is what we expect from our leaders. No twisting or manipulation of words cannot disguise a lie. That is what Morrison has done on many occasions to extract himself from an uncomfortable position. It has become a habit of his. The old saying, 'if you tell one lie, you have to tell a thousand'. I haven't been counting, but Morrison is well up the ladder of falsehood, and climbing steadily every day.

Our natural population growth does not contribute in any way shape or form to the overpopulation of the planet nor does our carbon emission here in Oz! But our hydrocarbon exports do! Nobody here in Oz is breeding like F--King rabbits!

As for Scomo and his remarks on our emissions? If you reverse most of his claims to exactly the very opposite? You may be a lot closer to the truth than any Ozzie pollie will admit?

That said and set aside, both our economy and our environment will benefit enormously if we transition to a nuclear-powered economy now!

And by nuclear powered I'm referring to MSR thorium and power prices as low as 1 cent PKWH! And that probably means many Ozzie pollies will take an enormous hit in the hip-pocket as their coal-fired dividends dry up!? It's not the Ozzie economy that worries the aforementioned? Just that on the personal home front?

If that were not the case? We could and would begin to transition tomorrow? But particularly as that would seem to be the wish of around 57% of the Australian public!?

Must we wait for coal sales to drop through the floor before these alleged representatives (capitalist cretins) get themselves and their (coal-fired) personal (in there to make a difference) financial issues out of the way of our very best economic outlook!?

Precisely my point ! Australia's contribution to the global atmosphere is irrelevant in comparison to most Nations !
