European Union and Germany plot to see Jerusalem divided : Comments

By David Singer, published 25/10/2021

The EU and Germany have trashed the uniquely shared Jewish, Moslem and Christian identity of East Jerusalem, evidenced by the centuries-long presence of Jews, Moslems and Christians there.

Since when did the EU and Germany decide what goes on in Jerusalem, in tourism or anything else?

"Yesterday, B'Tselem Field Researcher Iyad Hadad accompanied farmers from al-Mazra'ah al-Qibiliyah, who discovered that settlers had cut down more than 200 olive trees in their land, most of them about 40 years old. In the current harvest season,we have so far documented 27 cases of settler violence, including the destruction or uprooting of more than 1,500 trees, mostly olive trees. These are not merely the actions of individuals, but rather a robbery committed with the full backing of the state, to advance its goals: expelling Palestinians from their lands and taking over them."

Need to remember that what amounts to the Criminal Apartheid Zionist Settler State in Occupied Palestine is not based on support from Jews whose ancestors have lived in the area for many generations. It is from recent immigrants who have mainly arrived after the Balfour agreement of 1917. This was basically a bribe by the UK while World War 1 was effectively at a stalemate stage to have influential Zionists manipulate the USA into entering the war on their side with the promise of establishing a Jewish homeland in Palestine. Effectively giving away territory owned and fully occupied by its existing residents. Then seems ancestry of immigrant Jews is NOT from the "Holy land". Is largely from area of what was the rogue kingdom of Khazaria around 1,200 km to the north which adopted Judaism as an official religion the order of 1,200 years ago. Then what it seems Zionists are claiming is a plot to see Jerusalem divided is actually an attempt by some people from the EU and Germany to help Palestinians suffering from divisive policies the Zionists have themselves been carrying out

And as Singer brought up cemeteries.

"TEL AVIV-JAFFA, Israel (Reuters) - Dozens of gravestones were desecrated at adjacent Muslim and Christian cemeteries overlooking the sea at Jaffa and a fire-bomb was thrown at a nearby synagogue, on Saturday, Yom Kippur, the Jewish Day of Atonement.

At least five tombs were smashed and some 20 others sprayed with Hebrew graffiti, including “Death to Arabs” and “Price Tag,” a slogan used by militant Jewish settlers in the occupied West Bank and their supporters.

The “price-taggers” have vowed to avenge any move by Israel to uproot West Bank settlement outposts built without Israeli government permission, and have set fire to mosques and vandalized both Israeli and Palestinian property.

Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said a fire-bomb thrown onto the roof of a synagogue in the Jaffa area caused no damage or casualties. He said an investigation had been launched and that patrols had been stepped up.

“We are looking into who could possibly be behind the (grave) desecration,” he said.

A few dozen Israelis and Palestinians turned out in a show of protest against the attacks and a local councillor blamed settlers. Jaffa is the ancient part of Tel Aviv, with a mixed Jewish and Arab population, including Christians and Muslims.

“All these extreme settlers are doing different activities and they are not paying a price for anything,” said Sami Abu-Shehadi, a member of the Tel Aviv-Jaffa municipality council.

“Settlers have been saying that they want to bring the conflict inside (Israel) and this is exactly what they are doing now,” he said."

Your rabid Jew-hatred knows no bounds.

You deliberately omit to let OLO readers know what Israel's President Shimon Peres said in the very same article you extensively quoted:

"Israeli President Shimon Peres condemned the vandalism.

“The desecration of graves is a forbidden and criminal act that defames our honour and is contrary to the moral values of Israeli society,”

Why did you leave this part of the article out?

Blessings to the European Union and Germany for this endeavour.

Their reasoning and this talk about "Palestinians" is nonsensical.
Their true motive is likely commercial (through pleasing/flattering the locals), but for some of them possibly also anti-Semitic (I'm not a mind-reader).

Nevertheless, if this is a step on the road to help Israel recover and heal itself from its toxic 1967 occupation, particularly by ridding itself of the most toxic part of that occupation, East Jerusalem, then I am all for it.

I have no particular view as to who "owns" East-Jerusalem (and the other territories occupied by Israel in 1967): I suppose it should belong to whoever wants it, including Jews. Either way, Israel has suffered long enough and must not sacrifice itself for the ambitions of a Jewish sect: if that sect wants Eastern Jerusalem that much, then let them come and take it, so long as Israel leaves the place and is allowed to lick its wounds back home.

Dear SteeleRedux,

It is a shame that Israel is being identified with these filthy price-taggers: Israel should confiscate all their property, expel them naked to the West-Bank or Gaza and never allow them in again.

SR,

Reverting to your customary propaganda rag again I see.

Mox,

Where did you get that pack of lies?

Dear Yuyutsu,

Well you said it not me.

Singer,

No I didn't include it because it was vacuous nonsense. He did nothing to curtail the illegal settler occupation of Palestinian territories so the words are meaningless.

shadowminister,

So Reuters is now a propaganda rag? Look I know you are so bloody keen to prop up people Singer but that would be likely too much even for him. You utter fawning sycophant.

SR,

I was talking about your favourite Palestinian propaganda rag B'Tselem.

Iyad Hadad the author is a "Journalist" who is semi-illiterate.

You antisemite racist.

Once again, look here at the name calling type abuse directed by supporters of Zionists who do dirty unacceptable things to others against those who draw attention to them. A tactic often used by people who know that the viewpoint they would like accepted is being discredited by facts and logical reasoning.
