By Mal Fletcher, published 27/5/2021

If public trust is a currency, the BBC will be dipping into its savings for some time to come.

Only the naive trust the media, public or commercial. The media beats up hysteria - as shown by their constant scaremongering over the Chinese flu.

As for Diana Spencer, while Bashir might very well be a creep, Spencer was a grown woman who knew what she was saying, and knew that she didn't need to answer any questions she was uncomfortable with.

Treating a prominent member of the Royal Family as a victim of the media is absurd; as was Prince William's mewling totally inappropriate for a future king. It will be all downhill after the death of Queen.

Hollow waffle from Mal., who only pushes his own barrow filled with empty hope for any relevant future for any media.

Modern media is so devoid of credibility as to be useless for its intended purposes.

Those trusted with the promulgation of validated information need to be trusted and do what is needed to earn that trust in two ways, hold the decision-makers to account and ensure ethical reporting of facts!

Where things like hacking a PC and phone to access sensitive, private information is not on, any more than the deliberate censorship of critical information!

In the long run, hiding the (withheld) truth from those with the right to know it can be the most unethical practice our public broadcasters/mass media/media outlets can do!

Simple things like sensationalizing exposed personal and private information, just to sell advertising or ramp up ratings or scribblers salaries? Needs to be outlawed.

And factual and validated reporting needs to replace the ideological and biased opinions/rants of some very powerful players, opining in this space!

The "long march through the institutions" included ALL forms of media & happened decades ago. So leftism is the problem as usual.

Right wing media is trustworthy.
Left wing media is untrustworthy.

It's that simple. All fail the fascist left.
