Structural racism in Australia today is a nonsense : Comments

By Chris Lewis, published 7/5/2021

At a time when we need analysis that defends the virtues of the liberal democratic experience, we often have simplistic academic analysis that downplays our own social achievements.

Of course it is nonsense, just like all the other self-hating, anti-Western bilge coming from the ultra-left. But, the greatest nonsense of all is the Prime Minister's refusal to fight the culture war. We never get a peep out of him as the luntic fringe tries to drag us down, the latest example being his total silence on the the latest proposals for the education curriculum. The useless, value- free man must be replaced by Peter Dutton quick smart, or we will have a Labor government after the next election, and we won't notice the difference. Bring on Dutton.

It seems that some aboriginal groups. activists etc want it both ways.
They want to stay as they were for the last thousands of years but
dip into the money box when they feel deprived.
The two systems are incompatible, you can live in one or the other
but not both.
Aboriginals have to understand that their previous way of life has
become redundant and they have been dragged kicking and screaming
into the world as it is.

To understand the nonsense, we need to understand that their theory, or rather dogma, is simplicity itself.

They simply look to see whether the good things of nature and society are distributed equally among the human population and, finding they aren't, they declare that it's a social injustice, for which the only remedy, to achieve a better society, is rage, divisiveness, double standards, and arbitrary government power without limit or reason poking its nose into every corner of human activity.

These people are anti-social pests. If they kept their opinions to themselves they would be mere fools. But imposing them on everyone else, using the state as their instrument, becomes everyone else's business, and their stupidity becomes criminal.

It was one thing to spout this sh!te before their ideology had been disproved over and over and over again, both in theory and practice, at enormous cost in human deaths and ruination of lives on a grand scale.

To keep doing it now, for corrupt benefits from the state as with the academics and propagandists, or for mere vanity as with the useful idiots, is criminal.

Whip me such knaves..

Agree with most of this, Chris. Albeit there is a cohort of hard-right white supremists and another cohort of black supremists! The latter seeming to advocate that unborn children need to wear what their forbears did?

And also seem to advocate reverse apartheid? Want credit for what they learned from colonists and others.

Talk about culture as if it were fundamental truth rather than a primitive belief system.

Yes as hunter-gathers, did what they needed to survive, but little else that is noteworthy.

Albeit, oft times, gifted with remarkable memories and intelligence. held back, it would seem, by control-freak, tribal elitism that brooked no dissent!

.. whether the good things of nature and society are distributed equally among the human population..
Cumberland,
Isn't it odd that only the good & desirable things get mentioned in matters equality. Bring up the subject of equal responsibility & effort etc. & all you get is utter silence between contrived bleats of racism !

I never was racist. In north Queensland we went to primary school with quite a few mixed race kids, both aboriginal & islander. Kids were kids there.

Them in country NSW high school, there were a few mixed race kids. When I played hooker in the school football team, the right prop, & my best mate had some heritage.

Then I spent a fair bit of time in the Pacific islands, where often I was the only white in hundreds of miles. Today however I am becoming a little racist. How could any thinking person not after the Black Rights Matter rubbish in the US, followed by some aboriginals climbing onto the same band wagon.

Any reasonable person will be sympathetic to those disadvantaged through no fault of their own, but like me, will despise any who try to get some advantage from events. Nothing will get me offside more quickly than noisy, unthinking mindless shouting & chanting by any group, interfering with others going about their business.

Every report of BLM type riots put the activists deeper in the list of those deserving punishment, rather than help.

My experiences with racists have shown me that they use challenging language which decent people feel needs correcting.
This is where the racists start their insidious tactics of twisting words !
Sounds familiar ?

The recently released proposed ‘revised national curriculum’ has the First Fleet and European settlement down as ‘genocide’, and is over-focused on indigenous history, which doesn’t affect 96% of the population - at the expense of Australia, our Christian heritage and the debt owed to Western civilisation. The significance of religion, especially Christianity, and the contribution of early Greece and Rome, as one of the basics of Western civilisation are ignored or merely superficially mentioned. Study of the ‘First Nation Peoples’ of Australia - with only 4% of the population still having tenuous links to those so-called nations, is compulsory study.

Instead of stressing the privilege and importance of Australia citizenship, twaddle about a “person’s sense of who they are, and their conception of their individuality and their association with a culture group or to a state or nation, a region of the world regardless of one’s citizenship status” is what the Marxists want to be taught.

This ultra-Left, divisive rubbish has the potential to change forever the attitudes of Australians, who have been welcoming, tolerant of multiculturalism and mass immigration, and in no way systemic racists.

I was going to vote yes at the referendum! But after having my ears assailed by semi-white activists claiming disputed sovereignty, not so sure.

If sovereignty is to be recognised then it belongs to the very first indigenous migrants who arrived at these shores! Not those that followed, many making pently spurious claims about the time their particular mob have been in occupation. And given various waves of ethenic migration, some have only been occupiers for as little as 12-14,000 years.

Many have stories that are in conflict and so many languages as to be the land of babble before the invasion by near dead and chained transportees! Emotive language is not necessarily supported by actual historical facts!

I had no control over what Cook and The English decided! And any of the repercussions that followed!

Some want the sit-down money to continue even as they sit on valuable mineral assets! Get real!

If there has to be truth-telling and reconciliation? Then let's have it all, warts and all!

And responsibility for all past atrocities laid at the feet of those personally responsible, rather than their descendants!

Not wearing a guilt trip for the deeds of others decades and centuries ago!

Tonight on one of the news programs, there was a girl, with a moderate, but not heavy suntan complexion, having a big wing.

Evidentially she has been selected for the Olympic team, but is threatening to, or has withdrawn. She has her knickers in a knot, because some promotional photo of a few team members in uniform, does not have enough dark skinned members in it.

I have no idea how many aboriginals or other dark skinned athletes have been selected, & whats more don't give a damn. If they have put in the effort, & made the team, I will admire them for the effort, & cheer them on, no matter how dark, or not, their sun tan.

I have no idea who this girl is, or care if she has some aboriginal or other heritage, but this little episode of histrionics certainly highlights just who are the racists in our population, & it is not the white folk who are those mostly financing the team & the athletes.

If the ding a lings get their way there will be big money for someone
running DNA analysis. Those that we refer to as aborigines were said
to be the 2nd arrivals. To dip into the Govt purse will need a DNA test.
It appears they displaced the first lot, the DNA remains of which were
mostly found in Tasmanian aborigines, to where it is suggested they retreated.
So now the woke phrase "First Nation" should perhaps be said to be "Second Nation".
Governor Philip and his mob would be "Third Nation" and as my
antecedent arrived in 1855 I am probably "Fourth Nation".
The wave of immigrants that arrived after 1945 are "Fifth Nation".

Now won't that make for a lot of fun in seeing who is "Four & a Half Nation".
Just because someones father was a 4th and their mother was a 5th.

To try to take it seriously, the whole thing is absurd. Look how
many white aborigines are inhabiting our TV screens.
I would suggest that in another 200 years there will be no black aborigines.
By that time the climate change will be in full blast and the
Ice Festivals on the Thames will be a yearly event again.

Sovereignty? The High Court has already found that indigenous people had NO sovereignty in the way that we understand today. But, activists now want something that they DID NOT HAVE in 1788!

There were 300 odd distinct tribal groups with their own oral traditions and laws spread across the continent. Most did not communicate with their immediate neighbours. Guides used by explorers could seldom communicate with the tribes though whose territory they passed.

ttbn, Could have hardly put it more succinctly. Would add, we need to test the DNA component of all claimants of aboriginal heritage to ensure the devison/negroid gene is more dominant than the nederandal/caucasian gene of Europeans!

Clearly, there are rorting, blonde, blue-eyed claimants with less than a generous 25% making claims so they can buy expensive, high end 4x4s etc, using unearnt and undeserved taxpayer funds?

We need to also stop folk making claims of (nonexistent) cancer, also gaming the system!

Truth and reconciliation needs to be full, frank and fearless and tested with space-age, unbeatable lie detection!

Those found to be disingenuous mendacious storytellers, need to wear some penalties such as the seizure of their personal assets and the withdrawal of academic achievement/credentials and similar!

Let's leave them out of prisons and removed from academia! And on table waiting/pick and shovels etc. Then maybe they'll, cease and desist, STFU?

Petty stuff would be better addressed by a couple of days in the stocks as the citizenry/community hurl rotten eggs/tomatoes and a few home truths at them, as opposed to prison time! And possibly more effective in promoting behavioural change, anyway, than prison time?

And far more effective than making sacrificial warrior heros out of antisocial bar stewards/recidivist morons and petty thieves!

Really serious crime addressed with castration/sterilisation, as opposed to prison time, regardless of race or skin colour, would eliminate most if not all of it?

If thy hand offends thee?

Alan,

I think it is true that the 50/50 black/whites will always identify with half that has the most advantages for them.

Hi Alan,

My aboriginal cousin living in Bathurst NSW, she is still working part time in an IT business and she's 72 years of age. He husband a Samoan chap, now an Australian citizen, is under 67 and still working in the same job full time he's had for about 30 years. What are they doing wrong? Where is their government supplied yacht, and condo in Florida; "they're all getting it, why not Cuz, probably hasn't applied, what do you think?

This seems mostly about promoting an opinion or claim, without any credible support or evidence, masquerading as valid complaint?

'academia’s increasing adherence to the concept of structural racism'

One only ever hears of this in mainstream media, especially tabloid media targeting people ignorant of higher education, as a reason to denigrate 'elites', 'science' and 'universities' by claiming there are obsessions about gender, race or identity when it's simply some with antipathy towards the latter issues, has media access and inflates them....
