What the hell happened? : Comments

By Tarquin Ralph, published 21/1/2021

How could 70 million of them vote for Donald Trump when he was clearly totally unfit for office. What happened?

75,000,000 people voted for Trump because they were fed up with what preceded him. And Trump's achievements domestically and internationally proved that he WAS fitter for office than anyone since Ronald Reagan. Now that he has gone, every man and his dog wants to get on the bandwagon and be like others bad mouthing the man. Being with the mob is more important to most people than the truth and decency is.

This particular specimen calls Trump supporters "crazies" and 'white extremists". Now, there's a really good argument!

American, Professor Joe Siracusa of Curtin University, says that America is in "gridlock" and Biden has to shut up the left wing of the Democrats. These clowns have not been promised any appointments, and they are going to "get very noisy".

75 million Americans voted for Donald Trump because he was making American great again and was not in China’s pocket or with the socialists, marxists and communists helping the fraudsters, best not to believe main stream media etc who were very wrongly awarded the election. God help America and the rest of the world now. I doubt America will ever be the same again.

Let the historians and sociologists figure it out.

If all the wannabes try to work it out it will only become even more of a conundrum.

Americans are like Australians in that they can perceive the truth and are rational people. That is why they dumped Trump. Donald Trump did not tell the truth and was not rational. Amen.

The Joe Blow of the US public liked Trump because he was irreverent
he was undiplomatic and spoke it as it is.
He was not a smartie in a perfect suit who spoke with an upmarket
accent, in other words a rich version of themselves.
He talked of helping the out of work fly over people.
It seems he meant it.
Because of that they didn't care about the BS and lies that he put out.
They could tell the difference between the conventional politicians BS
and Trumps meandering nonsense that he put out from time to time.
It seems they liked him for it as it annoyed the pollies.

If I was to advise the US what is needed I would adopt Hilary Clinton's
suggestion to copy the Australian health system.

It seems to me that all or most anti-Trump people were fooled by the biased and venomous anti-Trump rhetoric which flooded all the main stream media by the very biased and most untrustworthy Main stream media which has lost thousands/millions of subscribers.

It's called mob psychology and Trump was a master at using it!

He could like any gifted conman, read a room, play to peoples' prejudices.

Used his Twitter account to great effect in a much bigger room!

Understood his target audience, white supremacists and redundant blue-collar workers like no other?

Told lies so big? Folk couldn't believe they were just BS!

And left a nation divided and at war with themselves! So divided that their external enemies laugh, clap and jeer! And pour fuel on that fire whenever ad wherever possible!

Democracy prevailed, barely! And the road back to civil normalcy is a very long and hard road! Need to be travelled/led by folk with vision and bold nation-building ideas! Just don't hold your breath!

Same old, same old BS won't do anything but compound existing problems and division!

Come off it Tarquin.

They had 4 years to see what a useless bit of rubbish Obama was, & still reelected him.

Or did they.

Perhaps the Democrats already had control of the counting system, & that is what reelected Obama, just as it has, after some reinforcing, elected Biden.

Hasbeen,

I loved that: " .... or did they ? ...... '

Well, yes. Evidence otherwise ?

Yes, yes, I realise that cunning bastards know exactly how to eliminate all traces of their evil-doing, and that only the most extremely intelligent, such as yourself, can see through the lies.

So the evidence of absence could well mean no more than 'the absence of [clear] evidence', that it's all been neatly covered up ?

Cunning bastards !

Just by the way, eighty million is bigger than seventy five million. 80 > 75.That's how democracy works: the more votes, the more legitimation of a particular candidate.

Yes, I think that democracy could be tweaked a little, to bring in some representation of the defeated party, a bit like the three athletes up on the dais at the Olympic Games - first, second, third - that, say, the head of the losing party can be given a role in relation to government, perhaps as 'Senior Advisor' - no voting rights, but a right to 'advise'.

Well Loudmouth, why were some of the on site computers connected to the internet ?
There are sworn affidavits to that affect.
Never mind too late now to worry about it.
They worked first for Charvos in Venezuela then who knows perhaps
for Obama then Biden, we will never know because no one looked.

Bazz,

Presumably to relay results quickly to some central point, instead of by pigeon or pony express or on foot. What evidence do you have that something improper was done ?

Clearly, none. Move on. Biden won. Cop it.

Joe

LM2
I have absolutely no evidence but the on site IT contractor was not
allowed access according to her affidavit.
You see that is the trouble, no one allowed to look. Made to stand
back behind public barrier. Gave evidence to State inquirey.
Counting after "all" went home for the night. Video evidence.
Those things do not prove cheating, just that no one checked.
Could it be that they just didn't want to know ?
Surely those in politics wouldn't do that, would they ?

So true Alan B.

Like a well known German Dictator and Barnum & Bailey Circus Trump could/can excite a crowd

= Cult of Personality + There's a Sucker Born Every Minute.

Note how Trump sacked so many of his loyalists and dumped the Capitol Breakin Mob, after the act.

The author is right about:

"Sadly the growing discontent amongst an aging white [male] group that is losing its place in the world, worried about retirement and not sure what is going to happen next..."

That represents about 80% of OLO commenters, I'd say, including yours truly :)

As Trump said in the traditional note left for the incoming President.

'Joe, you know I won.'

He did and today Antifa rioted in the northwest.

That says it all.

A Trump will run for the Republican Party in 2024 ... and win.

The democrats will tear themselves apart .. because that's what socialists and communists do.

I saw today the three warmongers and anti Israel Presidents, Bush, Clinton and Obama all speaking about unity.

What a joke.

I too know Americans. They loved Trump and they all know Biden is the illegitimate puppet of Obama.

Time will show this.

From what little I have been able to put together the running totals
were read from the screen by the supervisor.

I doubt if we will get any detail for some time because until someone who was involved gets an attack of conscience and feels they must tell
all it will be silence.

Politics being what it is, it will happen. The trick will be proving it.

OBAMA, BUSH, BILL CLINTON: SPECIAL MESSAGE TO PRESIDENT BIDEN

Some say Trump did not have the character and maturity to attend the Inauguration OR to attend this

meeting of ex-Presidents, including Republican George W. Bush, here http://youtu.be/7BgPuDK8u54

Especially watch this part - how George W. Bush graciously attended Obama's Inauguration http://youtu.be/7BgPuDK8u54?t=1m10s

and Trump?!

I agree Individual, Trump is not rational in his impulses but he did
see where the discontent was and aimed at it. He was a clever
politician that way but he was stupid in what he said on Twitter and
showed himself to be a twit !
BTW he was spot on with that Hydrochlorihexadrine, you fix the spelling.
In Europe and some other places it is saving lives of
elderly patients. It is like the not wanting to look at the voting
machine logs in the US, our government does not want to look at the
medical research done on that drug. Same mindset.

I think that someone as erratic as Trump would need tight supervision
as head of state anywhere.
He would never succeed in a Westminster Parliamentary system.
He would be filtered out by parliamentary members.
So much for republics.

"That is simply not true in the US. A person living in Chicago doesn’t experience government the way we do. It’s just a cost, and in Illinois too often a corrupt one."

Political party strength in Illinois
'Illinois is a Democratic stronghold in presidential elections and one of the three largest Democratic states in the nation alongside California and New York. It is one of the most Democratic states in the nation with all state executive offices and both state legislative branches held by Democrats.'

So you're saying the Democratic Party is corrupt?
- Yes, and whats new? -
