By Binoy Kampmark, published 13/1/2021

The reasons for Twitter's suspension of the account were themselves political acts initiated by a market actor.

It's certainly not wise economically. Twitter shares have taken a $US 3.2 billion dive.

If the idiotic political class doesn't sit up and take notice of what many people have been saying about Big Tech now, they are all doomed to be governed by the monster.

ttbn,

But money worth spent.

I personally would chip in a couple of billion dollars if it would help get rid of Trump.

Whatever the motivation? Overdue outcome! Somewhere there has to be fact-checking before those with that much influence/cult leadership, shoot from the lip!? And social media has some responsibility for those deaths among other things, like hate speech etc, that stirred the crazies and those subsequent outcomes. Believe it or not, words matter!

Instead of worrying about impeachment why don't they just add a 28th amendment to the Constitution

AMENDMENT 28: NO MORE TRUMP!

Further to the share value of Twitter crashing after its "nuking" of Trump, worth mentioning that apparently he had 90 million followers. Undoubtedly it has immediately lost some of them- both on temporary and permanent basis. Then I saw a report that an Internet Service Provider in the US State of Idaho now offers to block Facebook and or Twitter from the services supplied to subscribers who want to stop others viewing them on their services. Easy enough for subscriber to just not look at anything they object to themselves, but this will stop others from using the account to check FB and Twitter. This will probably set a precedent for many other ISP's to try. Then result will probably be that many parents and employers especially will regard it as good beneficial, not having others wasting a lot of time and also sometimes money using Google or Twitter.

in order to avoid more violence. Wonderful ! Social responsibility at its best ! No voice for mongrels.
