scale on in Lebanon, is a monumental task for anyone game enough to take it on.

The irony is Macron has laid out the tried and tested ‘Economic Hitman’ scenario for the Lebanese government, now all resigned ironically. This now leads to the very strong likelihood China will propose a ‘Belt and Road’ solution to any incoming government.

If this occurs the ‘West’ will lose a significant strategic opportunity to further intervene in the Middle East. The long term ramifications could be dire noting continued ME extremism and growing Sino influence to the detriment of Western aspirations in the region for years to come.

Good luck with that Galen. I hope China does get involved and like a nearly bankrupt Russia, spreads herself way too thin. Not that I harbour any enmity to our wartime allies, the Chinese, just the opposite. The folk who bug me are their totalitarian masters and the brainwashed slaves that serve them.

There is a growing alignment with the Chinese and Islamic countries.
I couldn't wish the other on either of them. They deserve each other.
You will note the new alignment between Iran and China.
Iran, not being Arab, maybe too smart to sign up to the belt & roads
but Lebanon will have no choice. However the Chinese may take one look at
Lebanon and say no thanks.

No, I am afraid the best hope for Lebanon lays with themselves. It will
be a long hard road and may involve some real warfare unless they are
just too tied of it all and agree to co-operate.
