The "even mild exposure to social media" causing us to believe that the world is worse than it really is seems to be valid. We get a constant barrage of doom and gloom from the media, particularly from the super-negative ABC: climate change, China virus, arson, crime, sexual perversion, whining feminism, claims of sexual assault and domestic violence, as well as constant, sneering attacks on our Western civilisation. Most of the gloom and doom affects relatively few of us, but we are all being taught to be fearful and paranoid. Female news readers, instead of reporting the news, openly emote, and force their personal opinions into stories by word or facial expression.
The rot is not in just social media (where at least everyone gets a say) it is in THE media, where yelling at the TV or radio is all we can do. Complain about anything formally, and you are ignored. The MSM is running neck and neck with politicians for the prize for causing the most trouble in society.
