Total lockdown and Henrik Ibsen : Comments

By Arthur Dent, published 8/7/2020

There is still no recognition that the need for this retreat indicates that the current level of opening up is already unsustainable.

"Governments"? There's only one government involved in the Victorian catastrophe: the failed Andrews government, which had the most draconian CCP-like crackdown and fine regimen in the country, but has still come out as the only Australian state to completely stuff up and lose the fight against the China virus. The end will come for Victorians when they come under the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative that the maniac Andrews is signing up for.

Victoria will eventually have to have permanently closed borders and be written out of the Federation as a Chinese colony. I don't know what Dent is talking about with "at least a month with no new cases" when there were 198 new cases in Victoria yesterday - and he started off with Victoria, the only s..thole closing and opening 'postcodes' as it falls apart. Along with a total lockdown of immigrant-filled tower blocks.

And not one question raised concerning the evils and threats to health of tenement housing. (Nine tower blocks of public housing in Melbourne pandemic lockdown).

All through the history of the industrial revolution, tenement hell-holes have caused grief to the poor, who are herded into them to survive the inadequacy and social stigma of tenement living (sic), which to this day, accompanies their bad name.

Shame on any Government, especially in Australia, that openly excuses these rat-holes as the only affordable alternative to human existence under cover of public housing, for the poor.

We have an urgent need and responsibility, to house Australians in a safe and affordable manner. Nine marooned landlocked cruise ships such as these tenements, fail the acid test miserably.

...and after how many weeks of exponentially increasing cases of CV19 we hear Comrade Andrews mention "BLM rallies" as a significant factor ? Whose life matters...obviously not the 2 recent deaths, but that's ok they were probably white, Anglo Saxon, elderly, decrepit and unable to march anyway.

And because Pauline Hanson pointed out that these blocks were full of immigrants with little or no English - making communication and understanding harder - she has been ‘cancelled’ by Channel 9. That’s all the go now: don’t like what someone says? Cancel them. Deny them a platform.

It’s the same with corporate virtue-signallers. If they think somebody has said something that could affect their megabucks, they withdraw advertising. It’s OK for them to continue ripping off their customers and exploiting their employees or slave labourers overseas, of course.

Fortunately, the silent majority who say nothing publicly can still vote. They can off course also ‘cancel’ their business with the virtue-signalling companies and their multimillionaire executives.

I have just cancelled an online subscription to a global photography organisation because they have appointed BLM ambassadors. We can play their games as well.

Dan.
The blocks are ok. It's is just the shared facilities that are the real problem plus the fact that tower such as these are a hotbed for dope addicts, pushers and organised crime!

Ever tried delivering a refrigerator or piano into one of those without a lift? And hand truck either up 13 stories! I wouldn't live in one!

Need to push some of them out into the regions instead of packing, stacking and racking human beings in towers.

That said, Japan is far more congested and gets by in tall towers! So the problem by and large is not the towers per se, but the compliance of those who live there.

Melbourne apparently has 1,000+ people who refuse to be tested because they see anti-COVID measures as a symptom of excessive State control.

Did such people frequent the crowded BLM Melbourne protests a COVID gestation period ago?

Might they be over-represented in the public housing blocks in question?

Most in the blocks would be blameless, just stuck there.

Easy fix is to move all these tenants out to the City fringe in new housing. That could all be paid for by selling off the distressed inner city apartments. Millenials would line up to do up a good sized apartment in need of TLC. Win win! No sale to one big developer who would bribe themselves into a knock down price but individual buyers only who have to renovate or lose the unit.
The current tenants cannot argue for residency if they do not have a job the outer fringe will cater nicely for them all.

A good article about the housing towers by Lowy Institute "Interpreter" 6 July 2020 see http://www.lowyinstitute.org/the-interpreter/cost-conspiracy-muddling-public-health-messages

eg.

"A June update revealed that right-wing extremist investigations now make up a third of ASIO’s domestic caseload, with a warning that far-right groups are using Covid-19 as a cover to push ideologies and recruit."

"The potency of this mix of beliefs was manifested in rallies around Australia in May, with protesters calling Covid-19 a scam and protesting against vaccines, pharmaceutical companies, fluoride and 5G, which has been falsely claimed as a cause of Covid-19 with tenacity on social media."

Those who consider COVID a scam to increase the power of the State include:

- the well known Anarchist black mask wearing Left-Wing demonstrators of Melbourne

- BUT more dangerously (because they're less established, hence less identified, and they're armed) the Extreme Right-Wing GUN OWNING "Tarrant-like" Libertarians of Melbourne, Ballarat, Bendigo and rural towns/areas.

Whether opening up lockdown is sustainable depends on reality of the coronavirus covid situation.

This year 2020 is the first year people who have caught the coronavirus flu are being counted.
Prior to 2020 regarding influenza cold and coronavirus flu, only deaths were counted.
Coronavirus is a flu and death due to coronavirus prior to 2020 was recorded in the flu death total.
Note the death toll for influenza and links to pneumonia, here:
http://www.abs.gov.au/ausstats/abs@.nsf/Lookup/by%20Subject/3303.0~2017~Main%20Features~Deaths%20due%20to%20influenza~5#:~:text=In%202017%20there%20were%201%2C255,464%20influenza%20deaths%20were%20recorded.

It seems the more people tested for coronavirus the more the total of infection increases. What does that testing actually prove?
Multi millions of Australians are not being tested.
Various test kits are unreliable.
Virus experts are still pondering why antibodies are not showing up in testing of a previous covid patient when they should be.

If mainstream media news is switched off it's possible to more fully digest reality of coronavirus v/s draconian lockdown.

Reality is there is no mass death in Australia as evidence of the 8,886 tested infections shows, with 7,487 recovered.
And reality is that to this date, 9th July 2020, there have been only 106 unfortunate deaths in a population of 25 million.
There is a similar almost negligible rate in New Zealand.
In PNG and Solomon Islands has been no death at all due to covid.

Will all the testing and lockdown occur again next year?

Yes minimal deaths in Australia (106) and NZ (22, ie. less than massacre by Tarrant)

BECAUSE we have strict COVID lockdown measures.

see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/COVID-19_pandemic_deaths#July_2020

Would some libertarians prefer:

Worst-deaths-in-world in "tough" gun-toting Libertarian US with 129,963 dead?

Pete, the testings will continue until all of the populace has given the government their DNA samples aka: COVID-19 Test Kits...or until the morale improves/& or a "vaccine is distributed". Divide and conquer works as well today as it did under the Romans.

The left have always thought that money grows on trees and that they are entitled to more than there fair share. When tens of thousands march in the street to demonstrate their ignorance and stupidity Andrews and other socialist Premiers shut their eyes. Morrison did a very dumb thing forming an alliance with these traitors.

Hi "Albie Manton in Darwin"
on "Monday, 13 July 2020 9:14:57 AM" at http://forum.onlineopinion.com.au/thread.asp?article=20997#370881

People should get used to being tracked for HEALTH & other legal reasons (I am)

just as they are "followed" daily for ADVERTISING SALES reasons by Facebook, Twitter, Google and especially by HTTP cookies on most sites (eg. Amazon) they visit - see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_cookie

"An HTTP cookie (also called web cookie, Internet cookie, browser cookie, or simply cookie) is a small piece of data sent from a website and STORED ON THE USER'S COMPUTER by the user's web browser while the user is browsing.

Cookies were/are designed to be a reliable mechanism for websites to remember stateful information (such as items added in the shopping cart in an online store) or to RECORD THE USER'S BROWSING ACTIVITY (including CLICKING PARTICULAR BUTTONS, LOGGING IN, OR RECORDING which pages were visited in the past).

They can also be used to remember pieces of information that the user previously entered into form fields, SUCH AS NAMES, ADDRESSES, PASSWORDS, AND CREDIT-CARD NUMBERS."

So Albie

I haven't seen anyone objecting to constant ADVERTISING SALES surveillance, user record keeping and GPS tracking via HTTP cookies on their laptop/notebooks and mobile phones!

Why is that?

Have we been conned so well by the Internet billionaires (Jeff Bezos (Amazon) and Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook)) of this world?

Yes Pete, as you are aware, even your mobile tracker device (aka: the telephone in your pocket or handbag) can give the authorities an accurate, up to the minute, very precise fix (GPS Coordinates) on where you are & have been, it's called "Triangulation". For this reason I chose way back when, that I was not afraid of Big Brother to the point I am who I am on OLO & other blogs since that time. If they (the authorities, Goons, Stasi, Border Farce, local Gendarmes, ATO, Centrelink, etc) wish to question me, then everything is there in the open. I laugh at the continuing advertisements being played regarding CV-19, the "cover your cough, wash your hands, AND download the 'COVID SAFE App'..." Yes, like the so many long dead folk who took the advice of "medical experts" and diligently wore a condom when having sex with a partner infected with AIDS, unaware that the virus could actually transfer due to molecular size of the prophylactic material. I've often made comments about our governments exhibiting a "creeping Fascism" over the years. That we see most police forces in Australia wearing black uniforms, is an observation and more tellingly, a commentary on the times in which we live. The recent Surveillance laws enacted are just another step in that dark and murky direction.

Hi Albie

I reckon there's no "creeping Fascism" in Australia, other than some non-Governmental, extremist, individuals and groups.

You want to see Fascism? - try Russia, China, Islamo-Fascist countries and many other third world dictatorships.

Cheers

Pete
