Australia’s self-inflicted coronavirus woes : Comments

By Alex Walsh, published 12/6/2020

Domestic travel restrictions and lockdowns of varying severity in different states have crippled businesses, eviscerated jobs and incomes, and helped drive an already-anaemic economy into a significant recession.

Constitutional lawyer, Professor David Flint, states in an article of 13th. June that the panicked actions of our “morally corrupt” elites’ completely unnecessary limitations on the common-law rights of millions to carry on lawful business, to unlawful home detention of the population, suspension of elective surgery, and other burdens, is the “greatest misfeasance in public office in the history of this Commonwealth.

Ministers were “recklessly indifferent” both as to their powers and as to the massive damage they would do with the lockdown. Their indifference has also included the “granting of exemptions to demonstrators”; their last minute introduction of the JobKeeper program, so poorly organised that it “now encourages casuals not to return to work.

The perpetrators of this misfeasance, including the main man, Scott Morrison, will escape personal retribution, while the rest of us pay.

Alan B Insulting people is not very productive and you misunderstand so much. The average age of people who died was 80 years old and all had associated health problems. Ever been in an aged care facility Alan? God's waiting room mate!
As for the majority they have been scared witless by unscrupulous politicians and medicos. The CMO' have never enjoyed so much attention or got so much wrong. They are a disgrace matched only by the usual lamestream media who never question these CMO's actual qualifications.
This has been the greatest sabotage of any country ever and we will be paying for it for fifty years, well our Grandchildren will!

Recovering covid-19 patients often need to undergo extensive rehab, to normalise often lost motor skills the rest of us take for granted. It's not the high death rate that troubles me, but the brain injuries that have lifetime consequences for those who recover?

JB. Those who make medical commentary that they know nothing about! Will never ever be spared by me. God's waiting room? Never been in one, intend to stay away from these gulags for old people as long as I am able. And those of my family who could one day decide where I end my days, will ensure, it's not an aged "care" facility!

The government needs to be congratulated on two fronts. one their timely action in locking us down and two in listening to the medical/scientific advice/expertise! Much to the annoyance of the pig-ignorant, anti-vac crowd of (me, me, me)detractors.

As for the demographic that are those most likely killed? I get your OK with that given it's somebody else's mum dad, grandma, grandad.

You know the folk who built this country and sacrificed and put themselves in harm's way to protect your rights, freedoms and lifestyles!

You'll have a nice day now, y'hear.
Alan B.

Alan B, I set my trap and you fell into it lol! I am 73, overweight with various health issues and have your aversion to aged care. I would be in the firing line if the virus really took off.
The CMO's are mostly not epidemeologists and even if they are why all this new thinking? Pandemics every so often and rarely are lock downs ever considered. In Africa when one of the haemogorric fevers strike villages isolate themselves but that has a 90% kill rate.
The cure is one hundred times worse than the disease for us, prepare for a spike in suicide and cancer deaths to say nothing of the discomfort caused by deferred "Elective" surgeries.
This has been a real boon, the adulation (MSM only) and respect shown to the total dimwits in politics and the medical profession. At some stage we will have to open our borders then more will die. What will you do Alan? Personally I could not give a Continental!
