New tactics? Ok, but is this a war? And if so? Who is the enemy?

I think we need a complete rethink and because we one of the few countries able to shut down our borders indefinitely and not just survive, but prosper.

Conduct all commercial trade and commerce online!

End our insane reliance on tourists and foreign students to make a quid and cease forthwith exporting raw materials to a nation that behaves toward us as if we are already their owned slaves?

Build up our defence capacity and alliances with any other nation in China's crosshairs.

Or just bitch and bark the when push comes to shove, roll over and beg for a tummy rub as some did when the Japanese hordes were on our doorstep

Not for nothing is it writ large, united we stand, divided we fall!f

Choose your reliable friends now and be a reliable friend if you want that of others!

Can't do it with sabre rattling and weaponising exported commodities!

And I know you know what I'm saying!

So we have the Corona Virus - which has virtually shut down Australia and it's economy.

But China - the epi-centre of such virus will permit an inquiry only if conducted by WHO - as opposed to an International non-affiliated body?

Seriously, Aussies are over this -

Aussies are "over" the "oh don't insult China" - due to trade contractions.

However, China can now set parameters and tariffs on our Barley Industry and cautions over our Beef Industry.

Why won't Australia stand up to this restriction of trade - and see it as it is - pure bullying of Australia.

As long as Australians keep up the 'quick buck' mentality instead of adapting a more long-term approach in matters economy, China can keep on dictating the terms !
There is merit in patience & the rewards will be sustainable !

Tourism going to the dogs? Good. Australians spend $50 billion annually on "overseas travel", $20 billion on gambling, $12 billion on pets, and $60 billion on the welfare of people claiming to be "indigenous." Our defence budget is a measly $40 billion, so it's time we got our priorities right.
