Justice is supposed to be fair, blind to inducements. So whatever types of evidence were used against Kavanaugh (or Trump, for that matter) should be employed against Biden (or Clinton, for that matter).

If we take the word of a woman against Kavanaugh, logically we have to take the word of a woman against Biden. If we demand more solid evidence against Biden than assertions, then we logically should have expected more solid evidence against Kavanaugh than assertions. Or Pell, for that matter.

Which brings us to some of the potential offences that Pell may have committed by concealing creatures like Ridsdale: failure to report possible crimes ? concealment of crimes ? Harbouring a likely criminal ?

But again, we need more solid evidence than assertions: witnesses, written statements, complaints from about the time of the offences, CCTV if possible.

The ultimate arbiters of decades-old sexual misconduct allegations are the voters.

Hillary would certainly argue that the three million more votes for her than Trump last election amounted to disapproval of Trump's conduct but it was the electoral system that nullified their protest.

No doubt the mass media outrage also contributed to influencing many of those voters to not vote for Trump - who is not as pure as the driven snow by any means. Who is?

Biden will face a similar court of public opinion in November but the public this time will have to also weigh up how Biden was treated compared to the way Kavanaugh was treated. In my opinion Biden will not come out very favourably.

The mass media has taken an entirely opposite position on Biden than it did with Kavanaugh and Trump.The mass media has in my opinion acted irresponsibly in giving Biden virtually a free run. The issue with Biden is dead already in the mass media - compared to their ongoing blanket coverage and lengthy reporting on the Democrats pursuit of Kavanaugh last year and their reporting on Trump last elections.

The same editorial standards and media scrutiny should apply to everyone equally without fear or favour.

The Biden affair is certain to be raised again by Trump as the election heats up. How the media treats their encounter on an issue that has ensnared both of them will be fascinating.
