The worst is over for oil markets : Comments

By Nicholas Cunningham, published 27/11/2019

While a lot still depends on the outcome of the US-China trade war and the 'partial deal' that the market still believes is likely, recent streams of data have tamped down fears of a recession.

If we do stumble into a recession? It will be because as before at the behest of oil tycoons trying to jack up the prices to whatever the market will bear!

And because of a myopic focus on a very short term future, where for them, nothing is more important than an upward profit curve!

I live for the day when some boffin will have finally invented a thorium powered car, that will then run for 100 years on around 8 grams or less of the most energy-dense material in the world!

In the interim the rollout of electric vehicles can continue apace, their range limitation completely eliminated by the rollout of graphene highways.

And energy exports sent anywhere as raw electricity generated in MSR thorium and transferred via undersea/underground, graphene cored cables.

And has to happen as the Geta lead mobility "market" revolts and votes with their feet!

I hope you like your oil with that? And Bon appetite!

Talk about pie in the sky Alan.

We can't even keep a cable from Tasmania to Victoria working reliably, what ever gives you the idea any country would be stupid enough to tie their future in reliable electricity to a cable supply hundreds of times as long?
