This used to by a gentleman's game played in the name of rules-based ethical sport! Where the best team with the best tactics took the day.
Now there is huge money involved, Bookies and it has become, like many other "sports" a gladiatorial contest that has little to do with sport or a (fair go) game! Just a win at any cost, contest between enemies?
We used to say, that's hardly cricket when we saw unfair treatment or cheating or somesuch Nowadays we could say, I believe, That's so much like cricket if we observed the illuded to, foregoing.
And for our part, we need to bring back the sandshoe crusher! After all it's hard to hurt a pom by hitting them in the head, nothing up there to hurt? I wonder how fast Archer would bowl with a broken tootsie?
Remember, being hit on the full on the foot is almost always a deadset LBW! And hardly ever going to result in a tragedy!
Anyhow, we're one up and only need to win one more to bring home the precious (Jewel in the cricketing crown) ashes, and welcome!
