All well and good Murray and possibly informed and completely correct comment, but WTF can we do about it? Except, note the advanced state of corruption and the fact that this is an Islamist controlled nation. Where the alleged moral values are supposed to have no peer!

Democracy in England developed over several centuries (an excellent reference is Robert Tombs "The English and Their History), and we have seen in the three years of post-Brexit malfunctioning that even there it is not respected by the ruling classes or much of the public service. It is not surprising that it struggles in countries such as Malaysia which have long operated under very different power structures.
