Presumably the bishop is the loyal vassal of the pontiff, who is of course infallible. So who are you to question his holy command?

At least, Mrs Francis, you have not been ex-communicated (expelled from confirmed membership for life) arbitrarily, as I was by the Uniting Church in Australia in the attempt to silence about their routine corrupt cover-up of clergy misconduct in NSW. There was no due process nor any complaint to answer, and I had been a lifelong loyal member. The issue began when I (a straight male) reported unprovoked, gay-bashing against UCA leaders, in church; and then complied with a Presbytery request to lodge a formal complaint against the woman minister. The complaint was never answered nor adjudicated, but I continue to be persecuted and character assassinated by the cowardly leaders I defended.

Very sorry to see this, Babette. The scandal of modernist clergy in the church is a very bitter pill to swallow. Be assured you are in the front ranks of educated, faithful, articulate laity to whom has fallen the responsibility to fly the flag of orthodoxy. Let's be grateful the old dissidents will soon die away and the young, strong and faithful priests will bring about JP2's new springtime. Thinking it might be a virus I junk them, now I find your comments are the same.
I don't know if someone is targeting OLO or what, but I simply delete and go to the site itself to catch up with the comments.
