Culling Chinese with nuclear bombs would be a definite means of controlling the Chinese global scourge. Posted by diver dan, Wednesday, 27 June 2018 9:40:45 AM

While I would not want to detract from the expertise of Professor Curson, this disease has been around since 2013 without anything much seeming to happen. The number of deaths cited would hardly be noticeable in one year, let alone across five. It seems that this virus does not easily get into humans. All that said we are about due for another flu scare, although whether we need to look for one, rather than have one leap out at us, is another question.

The problem with these viruses is their ability to change their antigens. This makes the already existing vaccines useless.A new vaccine has to be found out.
Culling of affected birds, preventing the exposure to the infected birds and travel restrictions are the only way to prevent the occurrence of a pandemic. Posted by Ezhil, Wednesday, 27 June 2018 5:34:01 PM

A healthy robust immune system is the best protection against falling victim to the latest flu virus and a big part of the solution may be a daily dose of Vitamin C, maybe a megadose.

General Immunity is important. But in the absence of adequate information about what constitutes general immunity specific immunity becomes important. This is achieved by vaccination with specific antigens.
The role of vitamin C is controversial. How it improves immunity is not well explained medically Posted by Ezhil, Thursday, 28 June 2018 2:43:54 PM

I was under the impression that Vitamin C had no effect at all on the immune system. Stories of its effect were started as a sort-of prank. It won't harm your health to have more Vitamin C, however..

Excess vitamin C is definitely harmful. It has been incriminated in causing renal stones
