Transgender Boy Wins Girls' State Wrestling Title For Second Time. On February 24th, Beggs beat fellow wrestler Chelsea Sanchez in the Class 6A Region II tournament in Cypress, Texas, to claim the state wrestling title. His win was met with mixed cheers and boos from spectators. Asa Merritt, a West Texas reporter speaking to NPR, said that “there was jeering and jawing.” He added “People said things like, you know, ‘He doesn’t belong there. He should be on a different mat.’ It was really intense.” Beggs has faced controversy on his way up to the top. The UIL permits Beggs to participate while taking testosterone because it’s a low dose and it’s prescribed by a physician, but many of the parents of his fellow wrestlers are angry that he is competing against girls. Philip S,
Perhaps I’ve misinterpreted your first post on this thread, but if you think people should compete in sport based on the gender they were born, then that story you’ve linked to doesn’t help your case. The transgender boy it discusses was born a girl, that’s why he’s competing against girls. Texas law stipulates that transgender people must compete in the league for the gender that appears on their birth certificate. http://nypost.com/2018/02/25/transgender-boy-wins-girls-state-wrestling-title-for-second-time This transgender wrestler wants to compete against the boys but is prohibited from doing so. In this instance, the Texas legislation has backfired spectacularly. This is why the concern over unfair competition is misguided for transgender people who are transitioning with hormone treatment. Male-to-female transgender people lose muscle mass and begin to store fat more easily, and vice versa for female-to-male transgender people. It’s not just male-to-female transgender people wanting to compete in women’s leagues, it's also female-to-male transgender people wanting to compete against the blokes. No one seems to be concerned about the latter, though. Posted by AJ Philips, Wednesday, 30 May 2018 9:47:47 PM

Then there is the apparently vexed question of gender reassignment surgery? Vexed it would seem for folks not needing it to clarify their gender bias! And like saying to a blind man, you can have those cataracts removed because is God's will that you were rendered blind.
But I digress, and to return to my central point. If we can never ever beat them then we should join them! And by doing it better!
After that, drugs in sport are just the tip of a very large iceberg, where money and sports betting play a major role. With refereeing howlers escaping commentary judgement or condemnation?
Particularly in countries, where endemic generational poverty is rife! While here, some of our football referees need to go to Specsavers, given the number of head high infringements go unnoticed, along with forward passes and mistakenly attributed knock-ons.
And protected from these glaring howlers by a compounding refusal to refer. And need to follow cricket by given each captain three challenge referrals that only exhaust, like cricket, when he calls it wrong!
So, it's not just drugs that are a major problem in sport, so also is betting and crooked officials, on and off the field!
