I believe CP should be banned; too many parents, carers and schoolteachers are abusing their power. A few years ago, whilst in care, I had just arrived home from school to the sound of
the cane whizzing through the air and hitting someone. There were well over 30 whacks, I assumed that many of my foster brothers or sisters were being caned but no, it turned to be my 14 year old foster brother Scott; he was in tears as he left the
study.

Sometimes is necessary to punish an innocent person – this includes CP. I know hitting an innocent child to many people is child abuse
but we all do things, which would have gone unpunished. When I was 10 I stole from my Mum’s wallet. She never discovered that I was
involved so when I was spanked along with my brother for something he had done it made it fair

I was abused in care. All 140 boys aged 10 – 17 were caned in
the hall. It was necessary to cane us as a means of keeping order
but not 18 whacks to our bare buttocks. The pain was unbearable
and our bums were bleeding and sore for weeks

Well I had an incident when I was 15, where my Dad said he would administered to me 20 spankings with a cricket bat, naked. I was asked to lie on my bed, but I had an erection, so I received 40 spankings. My bottom was crimson with bruises. My friend also received 5 spankings, because we were swearing while playing cricket.

I am now a mature, sensible person and don't receive spankings anymore. I think every teenager needs to have a hard spanking, to wake them up and make them think about life properly.

I am a divorced man, with a 7yo son who lives with his mother and her parents.

When I was younger I did not recieve actual corporal punishment with a device such a a cane or a belt, as spankings with an open hand were effective enough for me.

I was however warned about recieving corporal punishment at about the age of 7, when a mate and i got caught stealing lunches from another childs bag. The mere thought of it prevented me from doing that again.

When I was about 10 I took money from mums purse, and a jar containing money for school fund raising event, only small ammounts. A mate told me, because it was from mum it's not really stealing, it's taking what you're entitled to. I was disciplined by the school headmaster, a female called Mrs Rabbit, and I tell you... she didn't need no cane her hand was like a table tennis bat. This was done in front of the rest of the class, and my father also punished me.

I believe that Corporal Punishment should be administered only by a childs parents, and only up to the age of reasoning and moral, development, usually 7 or 8 years old varying with age. I believe that the punishment should not leave any marks, cuts or bruising on the child, and that it should be reserved for the last line of discipline.

About 2 years ago I was accussed by someone of child abuse, because it was alleged that I had used a belt to discipline my own child. I had not actually used the belt, however I did warn him if he continued to bully other children and hit them that I would use it. I had whacked the belt on his dressing table, the mere crack of the noise put the fear of God, so to speak into him. I then told him to turn around and smacked him with my had
