Considering that most people that speak out against Hamas are murdered, their polling is predictably favourable in spite of using most of the aid money meant for the people to build up an arsenal of weapons and tunnels to launch unsuccessful wars against Israel.

Peace requires compromise, which Hamas has made it clear that it has no intention of doing.

Plotting any future for Gaza is incomplete, without the extraneous view of religion and its hold over decision making by Israel. For them, this is an historic and incomplete battle yet to be won. It's roots lie in Genesis and the battle plan lays-out in Deuteronomy 7 1&2.
