Taiwan: a valuable partner for Sustainable Development Goals : Comments

By David Lee, published 22/9/2017

The UN is about people, yet the universality of human rights that the UN proclaims does not extend to Taiwan and its 23 million people.

The UN is not “about people”; it is about corruption and mad dreams of world government. Half the member countries are not democratic, and they treat their own people like rubbish.

I don't know why, or even if, “... visitors from Taiwan find themselves being turned away from the UN grounds, discriminated against simply because of their country of origin.”, but you can bet your bottom dollar that, if true, one of the most horrible regimes on earth, China, and the countries who allow themselves to be bullied by the Red Thugs are behind it.

I believe that, as well as succumbing to shoddy products from Red China, Australia does not recognise Taiwan. But, of course, Australia will not do anything about deadly Chinese building products because they are frightened of the Reds.

It is a pity, though, that Taiwan thinks it can get other countries onside by electing a 'first female president'. They would be much better off avoiding the PC crap of the West.

Taiwan should do what all self-respecting countries should do – have nothing to do with the United Nations.

1. Why would you want to have anything to do with this corrupt UN? Who are they anyway? Hopefully Trump will soon kick them out of his country and offer their prime Manhattan real-estate for sale to help the victims of hurricanes.
2. The bottom of the article states: "Dr David Tawei Lee is Minister of Foreign Affairs Republic of China (Taiwan)": Why "China"? As Taiwan is an independent country, "China" should not be included in its name!

Sustainable development goals? Like the development of molten salt thorium reactors?

Which if coupled to deionisation dialysis desalination, could literally change the world, end third world poverty and climate related displacement. To recreate our world to one, no child need starve in! And something you think we would all want?

Yet building a research thorium based, molten salt reactor, is I believe, currently banned in the USA?

Why? Because it's unproven technology? No!

Because of its (implacable) safety record? No!

It is based on the immutable laws of physics and has a record which includes around 20 years of diligent research, plus five years of accident and incident free operation.

And was starved of funding just when it should have been expanded in the seventies, by that paragon of virtue, President Nixon.

And possibly because it has no weapons spin off!

Thorium is fertile and unlike fissile material, cannot be compressed to create a thermonuclear explosion!

And the best possible reason why Taiwan should be developing it! Just for sustainable development goals!

One only need look at the unheralded treatment of Hong Kong and her people, to understand what could be also in store for Taiwan if absorbed into mainland China.

Taiwan's position could be improved if she progressively, signed peace and trade deals with, Japan, the Philippines, South Korea and maybe Vietnam. And never a more advantageous time?

Sure to be railed against by a duplicitous Mainland China, who wants anything else on her front doorstep!

We have, for far too long, made expansionist Mainland China our principal trading partner, almost to the exclusion of many others, including a democratic India!

Something that needs to be somewhat reversed, least we lose what remains of our independance and economic sovereignty.

I also believe Taiwan's cause would be vastly assisted by cheap nuclear energy, rolled out as molten salt thorium.

Enter the case for thorium into a search engine, scroll down the page to a peer reviewed, multistar documentary to open an entertaining and highly informative documentary, where the principal presenter, nuclear technologist, Kirk Sorensen, will lay some facts on you.

He didn't invent the immutable laws of physics. Just Understands them and why, Industrial Chemist, Alvin Weinberg, the inventor/patent holder of the first working nuclear reactor! Would reject his own invention in favor of something far safer, simpler and cheaper, as a walk away safe, molten salt, thorium reactor!

Of interest is the allegation, that building a walk away safe, molten salt thorium reactor, is apparently forbidden by regulation in the USA!

Just how much "political" power does the nuclear fuel fabrication industries have over there?

And why do they seemingly, reject sustainable development and or, power prices that have been estimated by Ivy league Professor Hargreaves, to be as low as, a median $1.98PKH!?

Why do we reject this cleaner safer cheaper technology and household power at less than $3.00PKH?

Coal fired "leaders", with manure for brains perhaps?

They just couldn't be in the fossil fuel industries pocket, or could they!? Or just hidebound, honest idiots?

Electricity is a good servant and bad master!

Ditto nuclear energy! It can create cheap industrial power, along with sustainable development.

But in the hands of a madman, who just cannot imagine a world turned into one vast fusion reaction, would somehow exclude him! Is beyond comprehension!

[And without decisive action in days rather than weeks, could be a horse already bolted!]

On the one hand used for peaceful purpose, nuclear power could end world conflict, water deserts and actually mitigate against climate change.

That simply can't be said of coal fired power.

This morning an ABC presenter, (ignorance is bliss) drew our attention to former hottest days records.

What he didn't address was the fact that in normal cyclical weather patterns a waxing phase of the sun, as it was back in the alluded to 30's, is also accompanied by some cyclical warming.

Whereas, like now, a waning phase, is always accompanied by a cooling trend!

So why are we once again setting new hottest days, hottest months and hottest winter record(s) Ian, when it should be cooler with advancing polar and glacial ice!

If the same rouge radiation product emission legislation that applies to nuclear power, were applied to coal fired power?

Then most if not all coal fired power would be shut down!

Ditto gas plants using fracked gas!

In the wrong hands any technology is dangerous!

But in safe hands it could not just save the world, but end poverty and starvation the world over. And as sustainable development!

Yet Building a molten salt reactor in the USA is forbidden!

The obvious conclusion would be to surmise that the regulators were being very well rewarded for their, fossil fuel serving and big nuclear serving (thou shalt not) regulations?

But is there another answer? Could there be a level of paranoia, in play here?

Along with madman gets a bomb constructs, that effectively condemn sustainable development, where it's needed most! And carbon free nuclear energy, when it's needed the most?

If you know anything about the people from Taiwan, they see themselves as being sovereign and independent to Beijing.
I find it difficult to believe they'd buy into all the progressive / UN / Globalist / New World Order crap.

The Peking thugs claim there is "One China" and Taiwan is part of it. OK, let them have their "One China" including Taiwan. And recognise Taipai as it its capital and the government in Taipei as the government of China, it being the only government in "One China" legitimised by democratic elections and the rule of law. Spend the next few years helping China to civilise.
