Unbelievably, our alleged head of state is a foreigner, who without renouncing her "foreign allegiance", couldn't run for public office here!

And if you're the richest? It also follows, you're the most powerful?

Yet hardly ever have to account for your family's, invariably forgiven (annus horribilis) bad behaviour and rarely if ever asked to account for public purse expenditure or pay a fair share of tax?

Simply put, these folk bleed the same red blood as any other human and pee the same colored urine and from the same positions! Get old, incoherent?

That said and duly noted, it is possible that "Mother England" could become a republic, before we do?

What then? The Royal Family migrate to the antipodes? Take up residence in the Governor's house/houses? Go fishing in Sydney harbour aboard the Britannia?

Just so they can imbibe as much, coal fired sourced, mercury as the local fish consumers? Ostensibly to lower the average IQ on both sides of the equator?

I aint no royalist but queen plays very important role in Commonwealth of Australia Constitution that protects our rights and freedoms.

In spite of all their weakness, we Australians have everything to gain and nothing to loose, accept our constiution by advocating for the abliltion of the office of Queen.

Don't for christ sake claim we would be better off with a republic because if these people are prepared to create a thing called the "Australian Goverment" and the "Australian Paliament" which has no constitutional basis at all, then i dread to think of how few rights we would have under a 'republic' type structure.

The Austrlain Constitution lays down how the constitution can be changed and if the govts of the 1970's put their finger up to that and did not even bother obeying those requriements what cause has anyone got think we would any real rights under a republic?
