The technical failure that could clear the oil glut in a matter of weeks : Comments

By Cyril Widdershoven, published 17/7/2017

Assessments that a shutdown in the Middle East or a major OPEC producer can be covered by new production elsewhere is not entirely unrealistic.

The corrosion is caused by the use of salt sea water.

This could be easily addressed by the use of deionization dialysis desalination, which not only removes the salt but many other problematic ions as well! And more affordable than traditional desalination, inasmuch as it has produced 90% potable water for quarter of the cost of the aforementioned desalination!

But even with the alleged corrosion problems addressed, nothing is going to prevent the ongoing roll out of one million affordable chinese electric vehicles this year with projected production and volume ramp ups over the coming decade!

And or the emergence of alternative energy sources, like say laser activated thorium power plants, small enough to power the family jalopy, trucks, trains buses, tractors etc, and without needing to refuel for 100 years!?

But the good news story doesn't end there, with a projected miniaturized thorium power plant, on the drawing board since the mid fifties, able to fuel nonstop flight?

My advice to those pumping oil from the ground. Gather ye rosebuds while ye may!
