By Gregory Melleuish, published 6/6/2017As with multiculturalism, diversity does not seem to include the possibility of syncretism or the evolution of new forms of culture out of existing forms.

Interesting that Greg calls or FRAMES the SJ movement as "warriors" with its negative conotations. Especially as Greg himself is a well known member of the Quadrant/Spectator/Australian culture wars (warriors) nexus.
And there is no resonance whatsover with the work of Wendy Doniger and whatever real or imagined negative effects that the SJ movement. has. Doniger is a well known scholar of the multi-various ESOTERIC Hindu religion (and metaphysics), and its relation to Indian culture altogether. By contrast the kind of exoteric religion (religiosity) that Greg promotes has no esoteric or metaphysical dimensions to it. The religion that he promotes is entirely an extension of, and a consolation for the social ego (in its mortal fear). It is about the external features of religion as a very worldly institutional phenomenon - such religion contains, and even enforces all kinds of taboos against anyone become "too mystical" or metaphysical.
Speaking of taliban style applied politics it is more likely to be found in the southern states of the USA. And in the kind of applied politics that Mike Pence advocates and practiced why he was a state governor, and which he is more than likely going to attempt as the veep, and even more so if he becomes the USA President.
Re the possibilities of a taliban style politics in the USA why not do a search on the topic of Mike Pence and the Hand Maiden's Tale by Margaret Atwood.
