I like the idea that tolerance is inferior to respect. I had Lebanese Moslem neighbors for many years and they told me that in their house, there is only one rule: respect. Respect for themselves, each other, their neighbors and their community. I have never forgotten it.

"Human beings will never be satisfied with a new status quo won through violence and suppression." writes Mal Fletcher

Nope!

Can you really speak for all humans??

Colonial history is exactly that, and works wonders, with relatively few hiccups.

Greed, fear and force are alive and thriving!

yes Estelles obviously not followers of Mohammed. Glad they adopted Christ teaching rather than that of secularism or Koran teachings.

Fortunately, no spinning it for all it's worth, parliamentary politician was in any way harmed during this brief reign of terror, just civilians and one proactive policeman!

And a good outcome all round for the protected politicians!

The rest of us, given the additional resources committed to parliament, will have to take our increased chances like those in that cafe, when a killer armed with an illegal shotgun held patrons and staff hostage, until an explosion left the waiting constabulary with no other choice but react!?

Thus it is and shall be as long as politicians are and remain a taxpayer funded protected and privileged species, with rights not shared by those they govern!

Reacting police don't make the laws, but enforce them, whether they agree with them or not! And like that heroic, stabbed to death parliamentary policeman, sometimes with their lives or able bodies!

One has to beg the question, have our highly restrictive gun laws made us safer from terrorists and drive by criminals with "unfettered access" to their choice of firearms! Some of which can be manufactured in backyard operations or printed with a 3D printer? Import restrictions? Bah humbug!

And such comfort to know the "handcuffed" police might even be able to identify the killer and bring him/her to "justice" after you're just a, carved in stone, memory!

Ask yourselves, how many mindless massacres could have been prevented/minimised by a competent, weapons trained, ex service civilian armed with a concealed weapon? Something like a legally concealed laser aimed 32 calibre handgun? And if that meant more metal detectors and frisk searches? Would that also not make us safer?

Better a dead terrorist than four innocent strangers and one heroic policeman! Who will be yesterday's news a week from now, once the politicians have finished waxing eloquent about his brave sacrifice! And never ever actually have to share? Unless they are at home or sharing the street with other mere mortals!

Again, this guy was known to police.

If it's a "war", why wasn't he interned? Why was his freedom considered to so respected that members of the public had to die to defend it?

This stuff needs to be dealt with by military courts, not civil courts.

We have Australians returning from fighting for ISIS. Get the matter out of the hands of civil courts and let the military deal with it. It's outrageous that these enemies of Australia should be allowed back to dwell among us.

"In the face of the type of raw aggression on show today, one thing remains clear. Terrorism will not bring cities like London to their knees, nor will it produce the lasting change its advocates seek "

The German secret service reported there are around 10,000 islamists here in Germany. Spanish police has confiscated a container with around 20,000 guns appearently on the way to Germany.

Last year ONE man with a gun killed nine people in Munich and brought the city to its knees.

I don't know about London, however, all those 10K islamists need is a well organised leader team and they will bring the whole of Germany not only to its knees but to total collapse.

And it is only a matter of time. Those terrorists will not change their minds. We are closely following the developments here since two years, and it is getting worse all the time. In yesterdays discussion we asked: Can it ever get better. Most agreed they could not image how and why that should happen and how we could return to a Western Europe as we had it 2013.

Luciferase says: “ Get the matter out of the hands of civil courts and let the military deal with it.”

Yes.Yes. Yes. This utter rubbish of treating terrorists acts as though they are merely law breaking has to stop if we are to win the WAR against Islam. Leave domestic crime to police, magistrates and judges; we need nothing short of another Crusade against Islam.

One of the interrogators of the vile piece of filth who masterminded the 9/11 attack on the U.S told Mark Steyn that the piece of filth was shocked by George W. Bush's declaration of war against terrorism after the event. The piece of filth and his kind thought that the atrocity would be referred to the FBI (a domestic crime-fighting organisation) as USUAL, and the whole thing would blow over. Bush, for all the ignorant jokes against him, had the intelligence to realise that attacks by Islam have nothing to do with crime, but everything to do with Islam's WAR against the West.

Since then, of course, the West has slipped back into the hands of the gutless, treacherous Left, and we are back to the 'nothing to do with Islam' crap.

I'm tired of reading this kind of stuff every single day.

What I want to know right now is who let them in?
Who signed their VISA or decided they were worthy of entry and/or citizenship?
Who signed off on it? Names.

Why was the murdered policeman not armed?

Surely it's time that the British police were all armed.

Respect? Since when do Muslims, as a whole, respect non Muslims? Look at Islamic societies, at the apostasy and blasphemy laws. Have a negative opinion about Islam around Muslims and you will see how much they respect others.

Islam is incompatible with human right and Western Societies. Muslims come and bring their hate and violence with them. Their values are those of Allah ("I will cast terror") and Mohammed ("I am made victorious with terror") -- then people wonder why this happens....

Over 1000 words, and not of them is "Muslim" or "Islam".

Journalism fails in the face of reality.

' Journalism fails in the face of reality.' Yep certainly the case with the journalist churned out by our unis. Look at how pathetically incapable the tax funded abc is in getting any sort of balance. Despite their narratives been shown to be flawed they still bang on. Oh well I suppose they are overpaid and comfortable with high salaries despite the fact they are incapable of swallowing truth.

“Through the ages, this has been the fundamental difference between two of the biggest change-agents across civilisations – violent conquerors and servant-minded missionaries.”

And when was the last time Muslim missionaries knocked on your door?

Or any door? Ever?

You are right, that in a time of war, all matters relating to that war should be dealt with
by the military and the government.

Civilian justice systems just aren't appropriate to be used in a time of war.
That's because wars are literally a fight to the death for our troops who are fighting
and their lives should not be made second in importance to returned Isis fighters
wanting to use our courts to be allowed back in.

Plus the rights of Australian citizens not to be put at risk by returned enemy soldiers
takes precedent over any law court.

Only our security forces know who these people these fighters are
and they shouldn't have to go through unprovable law cases to bar these people
from coming back in.
Who the bloody hell has ever fought a war like that in history, allowing enemy soldiers
to use the courts against our Australian soldiers and citizens.
It is bizarre and ludicrous and a total insult and betrayal by those who think it's ok
to do this

CHEREFUL, The Islamists understand they can never defeat the "west"
by military means so they have in this era adopted the migration
method which is called for in the Koran.

I can see no solution but for putting an electronic wall around the
Middle East and no one in and no one out.

The alternative will probably be nuclear war at some future time.

Yes Doog, people do care, but accidents have always been part of life.
Murder, vicious multiple murder is something else again.
