By John de Meyrick, published 10/1/2017

None of what the (then) Government appears to have intended or proposed is what section 18C says or does.

Dear Old Man,

I am another very old man deeply concerned about the rise of Islam, mainly in Europe, but also in Australia and the West in general. I have had written articles rejected, both by The Age and The Australian newspapers. I understand their reluctance to print my articles, as not only would they be in physical danger from deranged Muslims, who have been very successful in Europe and America and shutting down any discussions of Islam, but even our own government might instigate legal procedures under section 18C.

Mohammed was unquestionably the Hitler of his age, but managed to bring his followers with him by convincing them that he was a prophet of the lord. One can perhaps understand his initial illiterate followers, to whom a wheelbarrow would have been a miracle. But to follow Islam today? What could possibly be the reason?

I believe that the vast majority of Muslims today are scared of breaking ranks, just as the majority of Germans under Hitler were. I am a little scared of antagonizing them, and I'm not living in an Islamic community where honour killings, female genital mutilation, etc. are common. I do believe that we should ban Islamic schools, perhaps even mosques, and certainly the hijab. This so-called religion is hell bent on subjecting us all.

Am I also committing an offense?
