By Shane Satterley, published 4/1/2017

Also, simply replacing one interpretation of religion with another via the authority of the imam and the Moroccan king is problematic.

Dear Yuyutsu

You say –“ One ought to adopt a belief if and only if it is good for that person to have that belief”.

Of course, and there are many non-believers of any faith, however we can all show respect for other faiths/beliefs.

Gee your last paragraph was rather “tense”

Aussie culture calling - big bash on.

Dear SAINTS,

«Of course, and there are many non-believers of any faith, however we can all show respect for other faiths/beliefs.»

Certainly - and I'm glad that you say "Of course", but look how many people in this forum think that one should believe something just because it is supported by evidence, or that one should not believe anything unless it is supported by evidence.

One only needs look at the sum total of Yuyustu's posts to see how intractable Islam is? And indeed, every other cult that relies on brain washed unquestioning belief?

Its like, we have the sum total of knowledge, therefore nothing that we hold as being true, regardless of emerging evidence to the contrary, needs ever be questioned or challenged?

I mean and for example, one can go to Munich and there in a museum, see the oldest bible in the world. And understand that it has so little in common with modern versions, to seem like two completely different books! Both of which, adherent devotees will claim as divinely inspired or the literal word of God!

Similarly, both the Sunni and the Shiite, will claim their (massively revised) Koran is the only accurate version!

If an examined life is not worth living? Then an unexamined, never ever challenged belief system that has as a central core, virtual rivers of blood as its foundation point! Needs to at the very least, be thoroughly scrutinized and measured against the original scrolls.

Always providing the Saudi Imams who confiscated them, when they were recovered from the walls of the Prophets humble abode in Mecca, some years ago, haven't already destroyed them, given so much of what they claim as true, is completely contradicted by the original least revised book, or indeed, by the pen/quill of the prophet?

Then I agree with Saint, there can be no place in civilized society for them and their hugely divisive belief system, or indeed, the ghettos and enclaves it creates in a formerly inclusive welcoming society!

Saint, I would bother scattering your pearls here mate, given all that can happen? Is they be ground under the heel of an intractable recalcitrant? Who lives in the comfort of knowing he's never wrong! As so clearly evidenced in his previous posts!

Dear Alan,

King Mohammed of Morocco is practising Islam (so at least he believes) and raises a new generation of intractable Imams who teach that violence is wrong, even towards unbelievers.

Does he have credible evidence that this is the true spirit of Islam? I don't know and I suspect that nobody today has that information, but I can see that he does a great blessed work and as far as I am concerned, this is all that matters.
