Education minister stubbornly oversees safe schools information blackout : Comments

By Greg Donnelly, published 16/12/2016

Up until early July this year mums and dads could go to the Safe Schools Coalition Australia website and see if the school they sent their children to was a participant in the program.

Thanks for protecting children from the paedophile-educational complex. Safe Schools is is a classic "Double Speak" hate crime and should be opposed.

Yes, thanks for your efforts.
Its not a stuff up it's a conspiracy to indoctrinate the kids.
Seems like they don't want parents to know which schools are included in the program until after the kids have gone back.
Imagine if every parent decided to wait the got the answer before sending their children back to school.

Safe schools, does no more than detoxify the poisoned minds of youngsters, who've been inculcated at their mother's knee, with this stone age belief system, which has no foundation in fact. None whatsoever!

Your sexual bias, straight or gay, is created in the womb! Not at school or transferred like a germ, you can't catch it!

You can however drive some young and vulnerable folks to suicide, by insisting that every aspect of their God given sexuallity, is wrong as they are, for same sex attraction.

Now, I personally am no fan of sodomy, but might engage in the practise, if I had a loaded gun held to my head!

Ditto every other straight male! Therefore, the idea that some straight males could ever be turned by indoctrination, is absurd. But particularly when you understand what that costs the afflicted, born different through no fault of their own!

Get it and get over it! And then get on your knees and apologize for those you have hurt or worse, with your blind willful ignorance! That's all you've got brother!

It's long past time when folk can be persecuted, ostracised, or bullied and hounded, sometimes to suicide, for an accident of birth, for which there's ample evidence of, for those willing to take of the blinkers!

On the other hand, there isn't a single shred of verifiable scientific evidence for believing otherwise, yet relying on this false stone age belief to persecute, vilify or torment folks for just being who they are!

Truth be known, the participants get their jollies by this and or, worse gay bashing activities?

In which case, you don't even need to be gay! Just have a mate, a brother or sister, aunt or uncle, you've known all your life, who is?

And given punishing them is the intent of the most ignorant folks on the planet!? The minister is to be commended for refusing to oblige!

And if kids start questioning their early false doctrination at the hands of the willfully ignorant? Well and good and not before time!

'Safe' schools is a disgusting piece of trash, introduced by disgusting, trashy people who should be in jail, not at large and putting trash into the minds of children.

the ' safe ' schools program is a putried indoctrination of kids who should be learning how to read and playing on the ovals. How we have let the socialist even consider this trash shows what a sick society we have become. Gutless politicians who refuse to influence should be ashamed. Thanks Greg for highlighting this situation again.

Read all the above posts, by the usual suspects. Then understand that stone age belief systems and or profound ignorance will trump the facts or irrefutable evidence each and every time! No question!

For them white will always be black and true, but only in the complete absence of any light whatsoever!

These will likely be the same denialists that man the barricades outside various family planning clinics? Which they oppose on any grounds at all, including the health, safety and life expectancy of the mother?

Bring on the next election, which will be a referendum on all of the above! And expect to be decimated at the polls!

Sadly the author is playing politics. his party wholly sports the safe schools program ( as they should) and if they were in power they would be doing exactly the same thing as the NSW libs are the only difference would be is Greg would be defending the government position.

Nope Sorry Alan B, not copping it.
"The minister is to be commended for refusing to oblige!"
Mate, this is Australia, not north Korea.

When I grew up we had a gay in the family, still do.
Even when he was abou 5 we all knew he'd be gay, like his older brother.
Totally born that way and we as kids used to give him a lot of curry which I do regret but kids will be kids.
When we'd play footy or cricket he'd talk about how much he loved doing gymnastics, and we all thought he was a pansy.
He didn't really fit it with the other family kids.

His mother, after being by the bedside of his older brother who caught aids and died a slow death has to go through it all again now that he the younger brother also now has contracted aids.
And he's proud of it too like a gay badge of honour.

I don't think the world should be based around not hurting these peoples feelings.
Don't get me wrong I'm not trying advocating bullying, but curriculum shouldn't be based on appeasing minorities feelings.

I've called you a mangina before, and now I'm going to do it again.
Maybe if you had another life to lead you would be a transvestite or crossdresser or something.
It's not about sticking something up someone else's rectum but maybe you can't see past that.

Its about the liberal left and their indoctrination of every social aspect of peoples lives.
I believe in liberty - the liberty to tell safe schools where they can go.

I even believe in the freedom and liberty of the kids themselves to choose and for them to also tell you where you can go.

If you want to live in a world where some grand overlord decides what is right for you and your kids move to North Korea.
Otherwise quit being part of the problem and start have respect for the fact that parents, not governments should decide what is and isn't appropriate for their own children.

Parents know best eh? Especially those knuckle dragging neanderthals, who believe you can beat homosexuality out of a boy, or those wee few, who believe lesbianisnism, can be raped out of existance?

Or those who would marry off their daughters aged just nine or ten, or oblige them to live all the adult years under head to feet clothing? Or that wives need to be beaten into submission?

Is that what you mean by, the parent always knows best, Armchair?

Call me all the stupid, patently untrue made up names you like, all that'll confirm, is an IQ roughly equal to the item of furniture that features prominently, in the first part of your non de plume?

Go your hardest! Hurl all the abusive rubbish you can invent! And be sure to keep your head buried somewhere warm, comfortable and dark! And where no doubt, you get all your very best ideas?

Stay down, so you won't ever need to actually examine the mounting evidence that proves you and you ilk wrong! And as you go the verbal, entirely unreasonable misrepresentation; and or, simply run true to form and resort to childish abuse! Or the par for the course, sandpit dummy spit?

All that'll do is swing more of the undecided, with persecuted gay relatives or friend, into my camp!

Bring on the next election! Where this matter and marriage equality will be finally and for all time, settled! No ifs, buts or maybes!

At the end of this life we will all have to face our maker and justify our behavior and actions, all of them!

I'm ready, how about you?

And if you've been wrong all these years? Where do you expect to spend eternity?

Somewhere a trifle warmer than you'd like? I'll warrant?

Shovel that coal boy, cause we're gonna have a hot old time tonight, tomorrow and all your tomorrows after that!?

Dear Alan B.,

I agree with you regarding bringing on the
next election and letting the people of Australia
decide regarding the many issues that are of
concern to the Gay and Lesbian Communities.

As far as Safe-Schools are concerned?
As far as I know this is a voluntary program
that is available to any school principal who
thinks their school will benefit from such a
program. As for Indoctrination? The evidence
does not support that claim. However if teaching
tolerance of diversity is considered indoctrination by some
- then
we should all be concerned about the kind of society we
will end up with in this country.

Foxy and AlanB say intolerance is a problem, whereas to others, the classification of tolerance given by others, is actually a bigger problem by comparison.

You pair would exemplify the intolerance of the "tolerant" class!

Parents have every right in the world to forge their own biases in their own children.
It is not the responsibility of your local school staff to impose their particular biases over the top of a parent. That is the current situation which now masquerades as school curriculum , and is out of order entirely.

One could extend the new age "forcing" of somebody else's standards onto family's views of the world in which they live, to encompass any other ideological subject matter.

In the end, it is an invasion of privacy of the first degree. Forcing young children to hold views counter to the views of their own family, simply creates family division, and should stop Immediately, in this instance in particular!

I'm not against gay marriage or equality.
I'm against the government promoting a gay normalcy agenda including anal and oral sex to underage Grade 3 and 4 students against the wishes of or without full disclosure of the program and subject matter to parents; and the right to opt out.

I think that when a child is underaged it's the parents job to decide what is best.
Once they are of legal age, then the government can teach them all the perverted stuff you guys seem to want the young kids to embrace all it wants.

Some of you claim to being liberal and tolerant, but this is the opposite of the truth.
What you really want is some dreamed utopia where government imposes your ideals on everyone else.
You think that people are products of their environments and people should be socially engineered to live the way you think they should.

But the second you think that you've already relegated liberty and tolerance to the dustbin.

I didn't think I really had to repeat myself, but I'll do so anyway.
Parents, not governments should decide what is and isn't appropriate for their own children.
- Especially when kids are underage and sex including a program to normalise gay sex is the topic of discussion.

Dear diver dan,

Nobody is forcing any parent to do what they
don't want to do. That's a weak argument.
Parents have a choice as to which school
their children attend. If you're against the
"Safe-School program," make sure that your child
does not attend a school that has the program.
The Safe School programs are voluntary, not
compulsory. And it's up to Principals who want
the programs to ask for them if they feel that their
schools will benefit from them.

Dear Diver Dan,

I did read the article.

However, I felt that if a parent was so concerned
all they had to do is ask the Principal of
the school of their choice for their child
whether they had the Safe Schools program
at their school, and then make the appropriate
choice for their child.

Foxy,
This article is about a member of the NSW Legislative Council making inquiries to the Minister for Education on behalf of concerned citizens about which schools have the safe schools program.
He was not given straight answers by the Minister of Education and even 'Freedom Of Information' requests were delayed until after schools go back.

Therefore parents can't find out if the school they've enrolled or plan to enroll their children in has the safe school program or not, until after they are already back at school.
Looking into whether or not parents have the right to opt out, I can't seem to get a clear answer from news reports, some say parents can opt out, other say they have to move schools.
- Someone's spreading fake news and its not the independent media.
(News Corp own both these publications).

http://www.theaustralian.com.au/national-affairs/safe-schools-should-have-opt-in-choice-recommends-committee/news-story/1931ba95d07afd897290c1a2a11a7032

http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/rendezview/want-to-optout-of-safe-schools-then-prepare-to-move-schools/news-story/65bdb6af1e31d7e3d03442af4ed1141f

They're turning EVERYTHING into a gay lesson as well.
Turning normal subjects into lessons about sexuality.

Melanie Gaylard, who works for the Safe Schools Coalition in Victoria, has suggested ways in which even mathematics might take on a rainbow flavour.

“A maths problem that poses David and his boyfriend Tuan ordering three pizzas that need to be evenly sliced to feed them and their six friends for example, demonstrates the way some less heteronormative thinking can result in some inclusive examples,” she says.

“Even if a problem like this raises questions from the class about sexuality, students can be told that some boys have boyfriends and that’s okay and then redirected to answer the question in a casual way that normalises the inclusive content.”

This whole thing is about gays jumping up and down screaming "I'm normal", and since you can't stop kids bullying its about brainwashing them instead.

We have actually been presented with a war between homosexuals and the normal.
Most will ignore the reality for a while, but then will appear the likes of Roz Ward, who will inadvertently tell the wrong truth.
If we are to consider the safety and welfare of the "different" among us, subverting the minds of the young and the normal in a mass educational system, seems counter intuitive.
Creating divisions in society for the supposed welfare of a two percent micro minority, has become a war on normal society: on its traditions of longstanding acceptance of children with abnormal sexual orientation.
The vast majority of society have a tolerance towards this particular abnormality among children, without the forced mind altering need for subversive programs foisted by the state, onto the tolerant majority and their children.

Why do gay radicals and LW Progressives want to sexualise children before they even enter puberty?
Why do they push an agenda in which sexes are interchangeable and sexuality fluid?
Why did they use bullying as a false front to push this agenda through the education system and why are the LEFT running with this agenda?

diver dan,
"If we are to consider the safety and welfare of the "different" among us..."
There's your problem right there, you just opened Pandora's Box.
How incredibly disrespectful and cis-normative of you...
Don't you know facebook recognises 52 different genders and in a PC world they are all normal, no discrimination allowed.

T800
"Why do gay radicals and LW Progressives want to sexualise children before they even enter puberty?"

To answer you both, the best I can make sense is that gays don't want to be discriminated against for being different, so they make the argument they ARE normal.
So when Sex-Education at schools comes along they have to promote all their gay stuff as being normal too, to everyone.

Basically in the interest of non-discrimination they get a free pass to brainwash the kids.
And, its like the War on Drugs, a war which will never be won and is very convenient of them for promoting their ideas, because kids will always bully each other.

And with liberal idea on 'not allowed to say no' or disipline them or anything else bullying is just as bad if not worse than ever.

The liberals had this idea that all kids wear orange for 'No Bullying"
You can guess what happened to the kids who wore orange...

When you are trying to teach maths that should be your sole intention. Introducing issues of sexuality or identity into the equation is bad teaching. Kids will be sitting there thinking about what is meant by ‘boyfriend’ and not about the maths problem.

You can achieve your aim by simply saying ‘David and his friend’. Maths classes are not the place to introduce ‘less heteronormative thinking’. There are many more appropriate places to do that if it is required.

This is abuse of children over whom you have power. They are in a captive situation. They have come to learn about maths which should be an environment that is emotionally neutral. Introducing less heteronormative thinking should be done with care and concern for the emotional maturity and security of the child. This is probably best done in the security of the family environment.

These types of lessons are done mainly with concern for the emotional needs of teachers who are insecure about their less heteronormative status and they try and abuse situations where they have been given a serious responsibility for the sake of bolstering those insecurities.

I completely agree with Foxy, as someone who actually studied medicine! I understand sexual bias , be it normal or naturally occurring aberration, is not something that can be altered or imposed by inculcation or practise!

But, and the Gay community will hate me for reporting this; may be altered by a little known, little studied medical procedure? Pioneered in Scotland nearly half a century ago, that turned a convicted peadophile from buggering small boys into a normal married man with wife and children.

The judge on seeing him for the third time, issued an ultimatum. Prison for the term of your natural life or participate in experimental medicine as the guinea pig. Reportedly a hair thin wire was inserted into the basal ganglia, and into the inappropriately active sex control centres; and with a tiny tiny current, burnt the gender inappropriate ones out? At last reports, never more content or happier with his lot as a normal husband and dad?

Also widely reported, is the case of the womanising, alpha male rugby player, who sustained a serious upper neck injury, in a scrum? A few years ago?

Apparently a small shard of broken bone was forced into the basal ganglia and damaged the normal for a male, sexual control centres, effectively destroying the male appropriate sexual bias control centres in the bottom of the brain, in the process?

It took around 12 months for the (plastic) brain to adapt to the new and strange impulses, that completely turned this big burly, alpha male, into a meek and mild hairdresser, with a new same sex attraction controlling all his sexual urges and attraction?

Given it was widely reported in every daily newspaper, I don't expect the usual homophobes commenting here, will do more than label it as BS, put the blindfold back on and continue to spew the verbal vomit they claim as civilised and INFORMED debate!

BRING ON THE NEXT ELECTION, AND JUDGEMENT DAY! Alan B.

Dear AC,

The Safe Schools Coalition Australia is a National
Program funded by the Australian Government. It is
not about indoctrinating anyone. It's aim is to
create a positive culture and create a safe
environment for every child at school. Teen suicide
should be a concern for us all. Every child deserves
a safe school environment.

The Coalition consists of young people, teachers,
principals, schools, youth organisations, parents
and governments. The Foundation has developed and works with
state and territory education providers to implement
the program. Schools, teachers, young people and their
families have access to resources and support to help
them deal with the challenge of discrimination against
their children and to create safer and more inclusive
environments.

An Independent review of the Safe Schools Australia
program has been undertaken by the Department of
Education and Training on 26 Feb. 2016. It was completed
I believe around 21st March 2016.

It examined whether the program resources were age
appropriate, educationally sound and aligned to the
Australian Curriculum. It also examined the extent
to which parents and school communities are
consulted about the use of these resources.

Professor Bill Louden led the independent review.
Professor Louden is Emeritus Professor of Education at
the University of Western Australia. He was Senior Deputy
Vice-Chancellor at the University of WA from 2009-2013 and
Dean of Education from 2006-2008. The results of the
independent review are available online.

Foxy,

Of course safe schools is about indoctrination. That less than 5% of kids are not straight and a fair portion of those have not yet come out, does not justify a fact free gender reorientation course for the entire school.

If this was about bullying, they would do far better to address the multiple forms of bullying that take place rather than focussing on a tiny interest group.

Foxy,

As this was forced on principals, given the huge parent driven outcry, and the refusal of most private schools to take up the program, the evidence is against you. The sacking of Roz Ward and removal of La trobe from the program is also an indicator of the odium of which it is held.

Secondly, the principles that it uses i.e. gender fluidity are ideologically driven and have no foundation in research exposes its purely political agenda. Given that on average only one child per class will be not heterosexual, where is the bullying program for the other 25 odd students?

The funding for this program will end shortly and so too will their silly agenda.

Foxy,

You are wasting your time responding to SM. He/she has incomprehensible logic; conflates 1 non heterosexual child in a class of 25 as somehow bullying the other 24 because the class is encouraged to discuss the issues. Wow.

It is unlikely that none of the rabid complainers here have read the Safe Schools curriculum but feel that any discussion of sexual differences is somehow indoctrination.

They would rather have the Judaeo/Christian indoctrination to start the class on the path to clerical pederasty. At least they don;t have to understand big words!

Dear SM,

This was not forced on anybody.
And your statement that most private
schools have refused this program is wrong.

As a matter of fact prestigious private schools like -

Carey Baptist Grammar, Methodist Ladies College,
Ruyton Girl's School, Ivanhoe Girl's Grammar,
Fintona Girl's School, Geelong Grammar, Camberwell Grammar,
Presbyterian Ladies College, Scotch College, Trinity Grammar,
Kingswood College, Sholem Aleichem College, St Leonard's
College, Macquarie Grammar, Mentone Grammar, Melbourne
Girl's College, New England Girl's School, are just some
of the many who have opted for the Safe Schools program.
It appears that the parents and principals at those prestigious
schools did not have the problems that you claim.

It shall be interesting to see whether this national
program funded by the Australian government will be cut

Dear Peter,

I totally agree as do so many parents,
principals, schools, both private and
government, politicians, and people from all walks
of life, including Christopher Pyne. who strongly supports
this program.

Foxy,

Most private schools did not take up this initiative, and those that did taught a deeply sanitized version of the twaddle that was first proposed.

I have no doubt that this misadventure will not have its funding continued in 2017, certainly not in anything like the form it is in today.

Dear SM,

I've given you a list of some of the most prestigious private
schools that have taken up the full program.
As to what the future holds? We shall have to simply wait
and see.

Foxy,

Firstly most of those schools are in Victoria where comrade Dan tied the program to other funding, secondly I know parents of kid at PLC and Trinity, and the Program is nearly unrecognisable from the program introduced by Roz ward. Other than in Victoria SS was largely ignored by non government schools.

By 2018 it will be a skidmark in the history books.

This is a disgraceful abuse of power. Parents and voters have a righ to know what is going on with this business. It is another case of the "Public be damned".

So Gadfly42 as you are so concerned with the abuse of power we can assume you sit in on yours school's religious classes?

No...how do you know they are not grooming your children for the local priests?

If you don't trust your school's teachers and principals perhaps you need to "home school" where at least your kids will only be taught your brand of paranoia!

Dear SM,

Those prestigious private schools that were mentioned
were not all from Victoria. Presbyterian Ladies' College
in WA and Scotch College in Adelaide also opted for
the program. There were even more names that were
listed that I did not mention from interstate,
so your argument does not hold much weight. I have
family and friends whose children attend Scotch College,
Trinity Grammar, Methodist Ladies' College, and
Carey Baptist - and their accounts of the Safe Schools
program certainly does not match what you claim your
friends have experienced. I'm sure that the Administrative
Staff at any of those schools would be able to verify and
answer any questions that you may have about the program
that is being taught at their schools should you want
to follow up on this matter.

For me this discussion has now run its course. I look
forward to our next one.

Cheers.

Foxy,

I said most not all.

It would appear that NSW leads the field in rationality at private schools.
