Trump triumph could require direct negotiations between Jordan and Israel : Comments

By David Singer, published 29/11/2016

It is certainly not Mr. Trump's view that settlement activities should be condemned and that it is an obstacle for peace.

Why even bother to pretend there was ever a fully and completely negotiated two state agreement on the table!?

But given there was! Go back to and implement it!

That's is how you win PLO support! It was a done deal that Netanyahu has consistently backflipped on, with more and more illegal settlements! And all that keeps him in gerrymandered power!

If nothing else David, you are persistent! However you cannot know the mind of Trump from one day to the next, anymore than he does, let alone manipulate it, with too clever by half, pseudo legalistic words!

Netanyahu has used up all his goodwill and wriggle room as you have David!

Time to end this farcical charade and implement what has already been signed up to, or else! And I know that you know exactly what I mean by that David!

Out comes the Jordan is Palestinians home when in fact it is nottear up the Sykes-Picot agree send the Israelis where ever they want to go and leave the Palestinians to live in Palestine.
The only place Israel existed is in the imaginations of the people who wrote the Bible I believe they wanted to send them to Africa Israel is pretty mobile it seems.
Given the pack of Land & water thieves called settlers, criminal Govt & military, the sooner the farce is over the better

My main comments are:

1. It is a Netanyahu political myth that the US has done nothing to further peace between Arabs and Israel.

The Camp David Accords in 1978 created real peace between Israel and Israel's greatest Arab threat, Eqypt. "Camp David" led directly to the 1979 Egypt-Israel Peace Treaty. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camp_David_Accords

2. Much is said by Israelis about the potential of new US Presidents. But these Presidents almost always need to work within pre-existing international conditions - including longstanding UN positions.

3. It is also significant that Israel's position may be complicated by Putin's backing of the Syrian (Arab) regime.

4. Trump may also back the the Syrian (Arab) regime against all Sunni Arab groups. Trump, Syria and Israel?

5. Israel's nuclear weapons are the main peacekeepers between Israel, Arabs, Persian-Iranians and the Pakistani keepers of the "Islamic Bomb".

6. Points 1 to 5 may all be more significant than Trump's relations with or uses for Jordan.
