Coetzee published The Childhood of Jesus in 2013. It was received with puzzlement by reviewers.

True, we are born with a broad streak of the "self righteous".
Everything we do, think and say, is unquestionably correct; until circumstance preaches otherwise!
But I'm not convinced of a need for a novel on Christ which needs encrypting.
Mush simpler is to read the Bible, (for those with an interest), from end to end. It has its own way of communicating!

Dan, agreed - the Scriptures are a great read, it is how they have been 'interpreted' by various people in history who then force that interpretation and their doctrines which are the problem.
