The human rights of the settler : Comments

By Nicola Perugini and Neve Gordon, published 14/9/2016

Netanyahu's description of any potential evacuation of the West Bank colonies reflects the ethics of settler colonialism in which any attempt to dislocate the settlers is now equated with injustice.

Prompete,

Thankyou for that. Thomas O'Reilly doesn't agree with you, but there is a school of thought that says it is better to praise those you agree with rather than criticising those you disagree with. You have obviously heard of that, which makes you more widely-read and ingelligent than Thomas, who appears to be a Marxist who has other people to do his thinking for him.

The israelis have always used the vile maxim "facts on the ground" to drive their invasion and dispossession.
This is the next phase of that by saying it would be unjust to now uproot them from their homes.

Like the thief who breaks into your home and steals all your possessions then expects that you now respect their ownership because they would suffer harm were they deprived of their new goods.

Complete and utter evil that must never be rewarded.

The settlers dont have to leave. They can stay and become citizens of Palestine. Which unlike israel will not be an apartheid state.

mikk,

Your ignorance is just too deep and firmly entrenched to argue with.

Thomas O...that analogy is what is up with Australia and indeed the majority of the world. The, as I call it: (" McDonald's Management ") syndrome infesting the leadership and managers modus operandi today. Corporatised, pasteurised, homogenised and plain old lies to achieve the mission statement outcomes.

Go into the foyer of just about any business entity of substantial size ( say 75 employees or more) and read the mosaic of statements for this, the company ethos for that, the insurers underwriting statements for you, the Pope and the Holy Virgin Mary etc.

In some companies it takes a full day of inductions just to put on a set of glasses and gloves before you can even go inside the workshop and actually do the job you were flown into the back of beyond for.

Read any first or second year undergraduates texts for management and you find the pervading style is that of a 'whatever it takes' approach.

Does that tell you much? Well yes, it says to me that leadership has lost its moral compass for starters...and the results are in the pudding as they say.

@Albie Manton in Darwin, thanks mate, and I am sorry for being one of those who made the maccas types so successful (then ended up in national laws and Tafes etc) . I used to give such training classes and ended up writing the kinds of screeds you mentioned at inductions and much more. Mind you there is some useful benefit in these things, however when all it is becomes a fiction and not the reality then it's no better than the fictions in all the old religious tracts.

People really do believe that god gave them this particular plot of land. That's psychotic and deserves the most relentless ridicule by being called out for what it is: insane delusions at work.

btw you might like to take a screenshot of your comment here, as it's as rare as hens teeth ie true. :-)

ttbn, your vapid ignorance, lack of knowledge, stupidity and lack of logic, inaccuracies, relentless obnoxious ridicule of others, your untruths, emotionally driven reactions, and your hate filled insidious mythical beliefs are just too deep and firmly entrenched to argue with.

I recommend you find a good psychologist and ask them what they think about your personal 'values, integrity, critical thinking skills and beliefs'.
