I think that sexuality is really dependant on a place you are. In my city people don't talk about it, it's tabu!

That's called conservative Robert1950. That is 1950's, as your name implies.
life is all about sex, it's what humans do well. Sex is always aligned with fashion, but fashions change. I suspect it is primarily experimental youth that have been sucked into the fashion of homosexuality as an addition to convention. Changing fashions are really a protest vote, designed to destabilise convention. That is the "job" of youth to do...that's convention too!

But always on the side lines, the old guard resist change. To them, making sense of change contributes to the "grumpy old men" syndrome. Humans resist change; to them change brings instability and anxiety: takes them further from the door of "peace".

Isn't that a reason people aspire to home ownership? To fortify themselves away from the changing world, the new world order they don't wish to experience nor partake of, the new world driven by youthful exuberance, the new world order the same "old guard" have lost control of?

Phanto: you write: -"It is an indictment on the minority sexualities community that they are so self-centered."
Read the article again and you'll discover that Mr Wotherspoon was saying the opposite: - "Out" gay candidates for political office are not attracting more votes...candidates offering good policies are doing that.
It is sad that Diver Dan still thinks there's a "homosexual type". There's as much behavioural conformity among same-sex-oriented men as there is among opposite-sex-oriented men...virtually none! As a consequence, there is also no such thing as a 'homosexual community', any more than there's a heterosexual community. People gather in groups if they share values, ideals, interests in common, not because they were born with the same sexual orientation. And no one is disputing that there are rotten gays, just as there are rotten heterosexuals - does that make you think that all heterosexuals are evil? Learn to see individuals as individuals and stop tarring everyone you dislike with the same brush, it's pathetic.
