North Korea has declared that its fourth nuclear test demonstrates the capability to defend itself against hostile powers. However, Pyongyang's motivations might have more to do with prestige and international bargaining leverage.

Kamikaze winds stopped many a yank craps and poker round. Kim is a mean sob and don't smile when raising stakes. The East wind prevails said Mao which may wipe the smiles off Beijing if Kim pushes his luck.
