So if you were a potential parliamentary leader of the ALP where would you be courting favour to shore up your bid for top job?

John Ryan, i have read atheistic, secular, ANTI-humanist UN-holy scriptures. "repeat the big lie, until it becomes the truth" Lenin. The closet communist courier mail campaigned for the Fabian Socialist LNP before the election because they had to, as the Captain Bligh government was on the nose after being in power since 1989. But they turned 180% after the election & campaigned 3 years for Lie-Bore.

What planet are you on?

579, far right = anarchy you idiot. & no i am not an Abbott worshipper, he made some mistakes like Newman did, but they are the best of an extremely bad bunch. All 4 major mistakes parties are useless & Pauline Hanson is a centrist conservative BTW. Lie-Bore is far left & the LNP is left.

BTW, Disappointed in you Ian Walker, i would have thought that you would watch comments on this article & reply to some.

Author states -
“The recently adopted Labor rules allow their parliamentary leader to be elected by one-third ALP members (you won't know who they are), one-third union representatives (you won't have met them) and just one-third elected members of parliament - the people you voted in to govern this state.

There is an old political maxim: "you may have won the argument but I have the numbers!"

Power will always be exercised by those who have the numbers.
So if you were a potential parliamentary leader of the ALP where would you be courting favour to shore up your bid for top job?”

Response - Actually nowhere under current voting protocols.

Labor at “grass roots” level – now destroyed.

Current approval level for Bill Shorten being 15% - he only needs to drop a further 1% to 14%.

Current discussions around increase to the GST to 15% - would be above level of approval for Shorten.

Labor needs to cut ties with the Unions and stand alone.
You already have a classic example of Jo-Anne Miller – I need say no more.

Australia faces threat of terrorism. Australians have a right to deserve (and demand, as taxpayers) to have people in charge of our collective “security” be the “best” person for the job.
I could say more – but won’t.

Australians have a voice. Australians expect our elected Government leaders (across all States and respective parties) to work together ensuring we are protected against any acts of terrorism on our shores.

Note – I don’t support Labor, Liberal nor any other party. Am a swinging voter who shares with the concerns of many Australians in securing and protecting the lives of Aussies, our agencies and police personnel.
