Crowdfunding an investigation into the war in Syria : Comments
By Kellie Tranter, published 26/11/2015Yet Prime Minister Turnbull's unfiltered comment did not pique the curiosity of the media and the opportunity was lost to ask the Prime Minister exactly what he meant.

The 'evidence' is that we are at war with tyranny. But no. It is not effective because the coalition of the willing is too faint-hearted. Until the West toughens up, and goes in boots and all, it will not be effective and the war will not be one. That is what you should be complaing about.

Looks like Miss Kellie, OLO's bête noire belle of the ball, beats the bandicoot.
But for Whom does the Belle Toll? Posted by plantagenet, Thursday, 26 November 2015 11:43:41 AM

The author seems under the impression that budgetary and decision making transparency that yields the price and design of every paperclip used by Government Departments applies
to Wars that lead to the death of Australian soldiers. Wars costing Australia $Billions. The author clearly overestimates the Westminster style of Government. The momentous nature of War, Miss Kellie, is Secret Mens' Business. Posted by plantagenet, Thursday, 26 November 2015 11:59:07 AM

Kellie, first and foremost you are asking the wrong question!
You should be asking who instigated this action and more importantly, always follow the money. There is a wealth of information which points towards energy (oil) in many people's minds and there is evidence for this assumption. On a bigger picture, the "who" answer would eventually lead to the rise of the neoconservative guard, with a particular bent from the right wing Jewish mantra which is evident in U.S. Politics and has been on the rise since the Reagan era in the 1980s. The ultimate aim has always been the redrawing of the map in the Middle East to benefit right wing Jewish aspirations of a greater Israel. Whether good or bad, the aim has been to break up Iraq, Syria and other countries into smaller states, much easier to control and exploit that way. Most see the U.S. Efforts to date as abject failures, but the "who" would be most pleased with the efforts to date! This plan has been obvious for some considerable time if you look hard enough. Australia's role is simply a further extension of US government policy, given our vassal like homage we have with the U.S. Syria is going to plan, albeit slowly and Russia is a slight annoyance. No doubt the "who" will have contingency plans for this. It's a wait and see game. Asking the wrong question always results in an incorrect answer, please try again. The question of the cause of the war in Syria has been answered.
Have a read of Ugo Bardi's post to the Resilience site; http://tinyurl.com/py9ks9t I just put a new post up on here, if I had noticed this one I would have put it here. The title is Syria & Yemen now, Egypt next then Saudi Arabia. I agree with Ugo although I think Egypt is likely to go bang in the not too distant future. Whoops, I thought that this was a General Discussion thread and so I
had not read the original article. Does not change anything of course it just shows that the political field does not have a clue as what is going on in the world. I doubt very much that a lawyer and Human Rights advocate is any different in her understanding than politicians, compared to those of us who know that peak oil occurred in 2006 and know which way is up. IS can ethically cleanse, engage in mass executions, do pubic beheadings, crucifixions, and throat slittings. Abduct thousands of young women and turn them into sex slaves. Inspire terrorist attacks in Australia, France and Belgium. Make enemies of the USA, Australia, France, Russia, China, and Japan. And who does Kellie criticise? The USA and Australia, of course.
Nowhere in Kellie's rant did she even mention that the western world may have a problem with Islam, and with the most sorry specimens of humanity who most advocate it. Thank you Kellie. It was ideologically blinkered articles like yours that forced me to rethink my own position as a trendy lefty when I was young. You can't write such drivel without any person with normal intelligence figuring out that it is a load of crap. Posted by LEGO, Thursday, 26 November 2015 5:12:15 PM

Criticism of Australia and the US is justified.
Without a UN mandate and the request of the Assad government we have essentially invaded another country in breach of international law. And yes LEGO, the US started it all and has been destabilizing governments to put in puppet rulers on foreign nations for decades. Now its exposed for all to see. All you have to do is watch this one video to see that you have all been fed a pile of crap. http://youtu.be/GmF9oURUQ Its both sad and amusing watching some people here go back for second helpings of that crap they've been fed. You would really think that by now most normal people would be starting to thing that somethings not right with the official story. Theres plenty of stuff out there Kellie if you know where to look for it.
I read an article the other day maybe here on OLO talking about pluralism. I didn't know what it meant so looked up google and found this article. http://carnegieendowment.org/2014/01/23/second-arab-awakening-and-battle-for-pluralism "My departure point, of course, is that the status quo was not sustainable in the Arab world. For those who today say, "We told you so. The old system was better. We should have stayed with the old regimes in the Arab world instead of carrying out these revolutions," well, the status quo was not sustainable. We did not have natural stability in the Arab world. That stability was artificially induced by autocratic governments that basically had a lid on society's aspirations for democracy and pluralistic rule. Once that lid was lifted, in the course of three short years, it is natural to see what we are seeing today." Does this guy sound proud of what he's accomplished or what? What you need to understand is that most people in the world see M/E events as terrible. But the people behind this mess don't hold the same view. They openly admit it they are behind it but most people are too busy brainwashed by the corporate media to find out the truth. They think its great and all going according to plan. Islam started it all, Armchair Critic. The Middle East began it's march into total turmoil with the fall of the US backed Shah of Iran. Iran, you may recall, was the most advanced Muslim country in the ME, and the Shah wanted to turn it into something resembling a European country. You know what a European country is, don't you AC? It is the sort of country which half of the ME is trying to immigrate to right now.
That did not suite the mullahs at all. The power of the mullahs comes from keeping the masses of Muslims in ignorance and poverty. The mullahs in Iran allied themselves with the countries lefties, who of course got plenty of support from western left wing ratbags like yourself, to overthrow the Shah. The mullahs then had all of the Iranian lefties arrested and shot in groups of five.. (good riddance) Next came the fatwa on Salmon Rushdie by the Ayatollah Khomeini which shocked everybody in the west. Here was a Muslim leader demanding that a citizen of another country be executed for satirising Islam. And the "moderate" Muslims in Britain enthusiastically heeded his call. Here was the chance they were waiting for to show the stupid westerners that they were Muslims first and foremost, not loyal citizens of the country that they lived in. Then came Saddam Hussein who really got the ball rolling. Intervention by the USA to stop Saddam should have stabilised everything, but the ME was a powder keg of multiculturalism and tribalism, and it just made things worse. These are not intelligent people like the Japs or the Germans. These are a race of Manchurian Candidates, who have been programmed since birth by the mullahs to hate anyone who is not of their faith, their culture, or their tribe. The Sunnis hate the Shiites, the Shiites hate the Sunnis, and they both hate us. Including western lefties like you, AC. The attack in Paris was specifically towards the same left wing Parisian demographic that you identify with. It is Islam, stupid. Posted by LEGO, Friday, 27 November 2015 3:06:05 AM

Aahh. Another lesson in vacuity from the profoundly moronic Kellie Tranter, who is concerned that "civilians" are being killed in air raids in Syria.
Well, yes, and that's probably a good idea, because it was "civilians" who perpetrated the attacks in Paris and Brussels and the thousands of other terrorist attacks by Islamists resulting in thousands of deaths by OUR civilians, with no end in sight. Indeed, one could sensibly argue that the entire ISIS force and their supporters and green-left fellow travellers are civilians. Did they get UN approval, do you reckon, before any one of those terror attacks? Posted by calwest, Friday, 27 November 2015 7:45:25 AM

General Wesley Clarke is the former supreme commander of NATO. He says Turkey is supporting ISIS.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cx_AQ-csJzU#t=90
10 days after 911 they made the decision to go to go to war with Iraq.http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=general+wesley+clarke+youtube&FORM=VIRE3#view=detail&mid=779EB7430C5510C79AAE779EB7430C5510C79AAE They were going to take out 7 countries in 5 years. Iran and Syria have yet to fall because Russia has stepped in. Posted by Arjay, Saturday, 28 November 2015 5:26:16 AM

Hey LEGO,
Before you go calling me stupid in regards to the history of Iran maybe you should go back a little further to the overthrow of Muhammad Mossedeq. It was all about oil theft then, much as it is now. Hey Arjay, Talk about sitting in a cinema and watching a movie unfold... Did you know that Wesley Clark video - he talks about the plan for '7 wars in 5 years' by the members of the Project for the New American Century (PNAC) - Well... One of the founding members for PNAC is Robert Kagan. Robert Kagan is married to (US State Dept) Victoria Nuland. The same Victoria Nuland who involves herself in facilitating regime changes in other countries (Kiev coup and others). Posted by Armchair Critic, Thursday, 3 December 2015 11:06:45 PM
