Rampant academic dishonesty is destroying Malaysia's soul : Comments

By Murray Hunter, published 13/11/2015

Academic dishonesty is not just an education issue, it's also prevalent within the civil service, business, and even political walks of life within society.

It's not just academic dishonesty at work here but, it would seem, corruption at all levels including both the politically manipulated police and the judiciary, and I believe, at the highest political levels?

What is needed is a clean sweep and some long overdue integrity testing, that needs to start at the very top, from where all corruption emanates an just works down cleaning as it goes, hopefully resulting in a service and judiciary, both clean and proudly incorruptible given the integrity test could be done annually by a completely independent body not able to be contaminated by the usual sources.

Since secularism has taken over in Australia we had out social services degrees in feminism and other dogmas with little credibility. Don't forget international students are rarely failed no matter how much they cheat.

There is no need to look outside of Australia to find academic fraud and misrepresentation. Not when there are gender studies units in Australian universities.

The qualifications may be real enough but much of the sloppy 'research' and slanted advising to government policy would shame any self-respecting scientist.

What about the dodgy articles/research that remain in the open free to be referenced and are quoted as fact without any stated limitations at all by feminist academics, senior bureaucrats and politicians riding the feminist bandwagon? Which sadly includes PM Turnbull, apparently.

entristmoderate: >We already have a bill of rights<
You're joking? Where do I find this bill of rights, and don't point me to common law that still has to be interpreted by a very expensive judicial system!
Meaning those with the most rights are usually those with the deepest pockets!

The communists don't have an exclusive franchise on telling great big pork pies, given you seem particularly skilled in that area Yourself!? You have a nice day now y'hear.

"Meaning those with the most rights are usually those with the deepest pockets!"

Your may be right there, but those with recognised victimhood do very well out of advocates and lawyers, even against wealthy celebs and CEOs of corporations.

There is a large rump that misses out though and they work to pay for the 'entitled'.

Dear Lego,

You wrote;

“Islamic societies are extremely corrupt. So, what is the big surprise there, Murray? If you ever bothered to look at the internet's web page comparing corruption levels between countries, protestant Christian societies are the cleanest, and Muslim, Asian, and African countries are the dirtiest.”

Rot!

How about taking your own advice my friend and perhaps you might take a break from shovelling up sweeping generalisations and garbage.

Here is a little quiz for you. Which is the least corrupt country out of the following groups?

United Arab Emirates (Muslim), France, Portugal?

Qatar(Muslim), Israel, Spain?

Singapore (Asian), Canada, Australia?

Tell you what, because you seemed rather disinclined to do any research despite your claims to the contrary, the first country in each list is the least corrupt according to the 2014 Transparency International Corruption Index.
