Giving men a strong voice: what goes on Inside Man : Comments

By Peter West, published 13/11/2015

Inside Man, a new book published in Australia and the UK, raises many issues about being a man and how men can lead fruitful lives.

Oppression by women for women against men comes out in female dominated professions, eg.

1. nursing - where males nurses may be addressed as "sister" and

2. primary school teaching - where the male minority are (scuse the French) "henpecked" and harried by the clittorati.

"" The best women will support men and stand by them. "
Lol! Isn't that the words of a country & western song "Stand by your man"?
You have got to be kidding!
What century was this author born in?

Plantagenet, I don't know where you have been nursing, but in 30 years of nursing I never heard one person call a male nurse 'Sister'. They were all called nurse.
Are you suggesting men shouldn't be able to be nurses?
I think you are being a little hysterical.

Maybe you feel the same way about women who are in male dominated areas like politics and business organizations being called 'chairman' ?

Hi Suse

I advocate my chairperson-like opinions over your actual experience any time.

Even if am "hysterical" as you so aptly put it.

So there!

It is true than there are generally no strong positive male role models portrayed in the media. But isnt that just an extension of the fact that there is no strong sane and balanced male culture to be found anywhere at all. And that almost everywhere you look there has been and is corruption all the way down the line. Such was essentially always the case but in these media saturated times all of the (toxic) emperors are now almost instantaneously seen to have to clothes.

So where are young males going to find sane and balanced male role models? From Hollywood or TV!

Beginning at a very young age many young males spend a lot of time playing video games that are saturated with psycho-pathic violence. Some/many of which are produced by the Pentagon.
These electronic video games are not just forms of harmless entertainment like playing cowboys and indians in the back yard in the before TV olden days. They are very potent propaganda tools which are effectively brain-washing those that play them.
You quite literally become what you put your attention on, especially in ones formative years when the neurological pathways of the brain and central nervous system, and hence ones psyche altogether are still developing.

But what does it take to become a mature male. First you need a mature male culture into which adolescent males have to be initiated in to. No such culture exists any more - it probably never did. Father did not necessarily know what was best. Nor did Ward Cleaver or Ozzie from Ozzie & Harriet.

Two of my favorite writers who have explored at a depth level what it takes to become a responsible male in this world are David Deida via his book The Way of the Superior Man and his work altogether. And Robert Augustus Masters via his work altogether. His recent book Emotional Intimacy is a gem.
Responsible meaning that one takes full responsibility for ones action and emotional presence in the world knowing full well that there is no one and no thing to blame.

It is difficult to comment constructively on an article such as this, when you disagree so completely with the opening premise.

"Our society is becoming a femocracy in which men and masculinity are being marginalised. Men are being edged out of the family, the workplace and wider society. In this feminised society, men who act like women are clearly preferred to men who act like men."

"Marginalization" of men is not accomplished through the existence of the couple of groups established by women, for women, that the author refers to. Especially when placed in the context of thousands of years of history in which women were genuinely marginalised in society into an entirely separate role. Women senators in Ancient Rome? I don't think so. Women members of parliament in western democracies? Only very recently. Women running businesses in Victorian England - or twentieth century Australia, for that matter? Rarer than hen's teeth.

That's marginalization.

Whining article such as this do nothing to further the cause of "men", mostly because the type of male used as illustration is clutching at straws in blaming women for any and every misfortune that has befallen them.

"The voices are familiar to me from the men who speak to me in unguarded conversations in pubs and cars and coffee-shops, when they feel they can speak what is in their hearts."

I'm sincerely grateful that I have had very few such conversations myself. On the rare occasions when it has happened, I find myself either telling them to stop whingeing, and start taking some responsibility for their own lives instead of blaming others, or walking quickly away.

Feeling privately sorry for them is one thing. Encouraging their woebegone self-pity, even by nodding patiently, is entirely another.

I don't know what being a man means, unless it's being true to your own convictions, setting an example others can look up to; and rather than oppressing the weak stand up for them!

It means having a moral compass that still works and at the end of the day being able to look at the man in the mirror, arguably the only one you can't con or fool, and be able to say on balance, you're not perfect, nobody is, but you're okay, you'll do!

It means holding fast to your dreams and just not quitting on them even when the going seems too tough! Who knows when the universe will decide you need some help? Who knows what the tide will bring? Asking for some help never hurt anyone.
Dreams are rarely revolve around money ,but rather passing that exam, gaining that position or succeeding at your sporting endeavours!?

It means understanding that what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger! It means overlooking the flaws in others; given in their shoes, you may well have exercised the same options? It means never turning your back on someone who genuinely needs help; always providing you have the means to actually help!? You need to be a friend to have a friend!

Daffy Duck, what exactly do you mean by saying there are no strong male role models in the media? Are men supposed to look up to journalists, weathermen or newsreaders as role models? Shouldn't they be looking up to other men who have made more positive contributions to society?

Pericles "Whining article such as this do nothing to further the cause of "men", mostly because the type of male used as illustration is clutching at straws in blaming women for any and every misfortune that has befallen them."
I totally agree, but I doubt many others on this forum, who regularly fall into the " let's blame all our problems on feminists' pit, will agree : )

Runner, that's great you have a fulfilling marriage, just as long as she stands and leads beside you, and not behind you....

One of the interesting things about feminism is that they were ever able to get anyone to buy into the line that feminism is about gender equality, equal opportunity, equal rights, or other such blandishments to equality.

These statements are completely unhistorical. Feminism has always been about benefits, favours, and legal privileges for women on a double standard. The name says it all.

For example, universal adult female suffrage came in when universal adult male suffrage was itself fairly recent. One of the main arguments advanced for the latter was that men put their lives on the line on the battlefield and were liable to conscription for among other things, protecting the women and children of the community. The same generation of women that were sending white feathers to men to humiliate them for cowardice were the ones shrieking how bitterly unfair it was that they didn’t equally have a right to vote.

It is also surprising that feminism was able to get anyone to buy into the line that the sexes are equal, or ought to be treated as equal, when we consider that the sexes are not factually equal, cannot be factually equal, and cannot be valued as equals without nullifying the value of human life at some stage.

As soon as this is pointed out “Ah yes but” comes the invariable feminist reply: “Equal doesn’t mean the same”.

But equal does mean the same. When we say two plus two equal four, we mean that two plus two are the same as four.

If the feminists are right in saying that equal doesn’t mean the same, then obviously there is no justification for equal pay legislation. A man could earn $20 an hour, while a woman earns $10 an hour for the same work and, according to feminist logic, we could still say that their pay is equal because “equal doesn’t mean the same”. It’s nonsense. Not even the feminists believe it, for the obvious reason that it’s not true.

“But” comes the standard rejoinder “People should still be valued equally as human beings, equal in dignity, equal in the respect we give them” and so on.

That’s all very well if we think of male and female as monolithic lumps, generalities in the abstract. But the problem is that *in reality* people are individuals and have differences, which other people value differently. And there’s no reason why they shouldn’t value them differently. There is no reason why a man should be valued equally, or given equal consideration, on account of his giving birth to babies, for obvious reasons.

By the same token, to the extent that women’s having babies has logical or probable consequences, including cost or risk consequences in the real world, there is not the slightest reason why people should not cognize this, value them differently, and treat them differently. There's nothing wrong with it. Discrimination is just preference by another name. There's no "right" not to be the subject of others' preferences.

In any event, feminists don’t object to it when it adversely affects men. When did you ever hear a feminist worrying about the much higher rate of male deaths at work or other unequal indicia of male disadvantage?

Another example of the feminist double standard is characteristic feminist support of a traditional legal obligation on men to pay money to women on account of children - compulsory so-called “child support”. In this they are affirming as against men an obligation that is the moral keystone of patriarchy. So much for feminist concern about freedom from non-consensual sex-specific patriarchal gender stereotypes.

When this is challenged, the answer is invariably that men have a “responsibility” to benefit and favour women in this way. But hang on.
These are the same people who have been insisting for the last 40 years that unwanted sex-specific obligations without the consent of the individual, are just “social constructs” that are “gender stereotypes” and that it is a “human right” for people to be free of such oppression.

All of a sudden they think nature-given sex-specific socially-constructed non-consensual gender stereotypes are fine after all – so long as it’s men being forced to benefit women.

If A and B do the same work, but the costs and risks of costs of employing B are greater, then it is not “equality” or a "human right” for them to be paid the same. It is a privilege for B.

Compulsory equal pay for male and female for equal work would only be ethically just if their costs, or risks of costs, were in fact equal. But we have seen this premise is factually false. That being so, equal pay legislation should be called "financial violence and enforced legal privileges for women", not equal rights at all.

What the feminist movement has always and consistently argued for, is the benefits of both patriarchy and the feminist dispensation for women, with men to have the costs, obligations and risks of both. It is simply factually untrue that feminism is, or has ever been, about gender equality, or equal opportunity.

It is notorious that the equalitarian ideologies have historically been responsible for killing human beings on a massive scale, and feminism is no exception. Socialism killed its tens of millions, but feminism has killed its hundreds of millions and like other state-worshipping fascist ideologies, has a ready-made ideology to dehumanize its victims, to portray them as less than human.

But when a woman – even a feminist – who has wanted to fall pregnant, succeeds and informs her girlfriends, they don’t refer to the human being in question as “the foetus” or “the clump of cells”, do they”?

No. What do they call it?

The fact that the sexes are not factually equal, because women have babies and men don’t, goes on to infect, and invalidate, all the logical and ethical conclusions of all feminist ideology built on that factually false premise. So far as I can tell, this is all of it - except libertarian feminism.

plantagenet, exactly.

Suseonline, & right on cue the clittorati division of the PC thought police arrive to henpeck, harass & lie about men as usual. No Australian child will be safe until ASIO find you, jail you for life.

plantagenet, your dry wit goes straight over the heads of the average communist.

Daffy Duck, your PC thought police, ANTI-male brain washing shows through more clearly than ever. You are what is known in the trade as a mangina who has socially, emotionally, culturally, ideologically, philosophically & psychologically castrated himself. Does your body even produce any testosterone any more?

runner, exactly, a thing with 2 heads is a monster.

Pericles, read my response to Daffy Duck. I'm sincerely grateful that I have had many such conversations myself. Feeling privately sorry for women is one thing. Encouraging their woebegone self-pity, even by nodding patiently, is entirely another"

in my experience Pericles manginas like you & DD are less than 10% of the male population. Your time is rapidly disappearing, children's lives are at risk because of you.

Rhosty, well said, hear, hear but a little optimistic today in light of the femi-NAZI, matriarchy reality that boys grow up in today where they are encouraged to avoid taking responsibility for anything other than going to jail.

Suseonline, lying for the communist matriarchy again i see. Q, why are men not allowed to have a safe space free from females every now & then? You are so weak minded & delusional that you could not restrain yourself from commenting, even though the manginas are here to loyally do it for you. Thank you for proving every word of the article to be true. You damage feminism every time you speak.

Jardine K Jardine, correct, politically & factually except that there is no libertarian, good or positive feminism, never will be. Women are biologically the negative terminal of the human battery.

This statement is certainly true of an elitist group, which, fortunately is not inhabited by most of us, now. Unfortunately, it will become the rule as primary school teachers become overwhelmingly female and products of the increasingly hard Left dogma and instruction imparted by universities to these young ladies, whose natural inclinations might not be of the feminista kind, but whose gaining of qualifications is dependent on following the brainwashing of Left-wing tyrants.

"Feminism has fought no wars. It has killed no opponents. It has set up no concentration camps, starved no enemies, practiced no cruelties.

Its battles have been for education, for the vote, for better working conditions…for safety on the streets…for child care, for social welfare…for rape crisis centers, women’s refuges, reforms in the law.

If someone says, “Oh, I’m not a feminist,” I ask, “Why, what’s your problem?””

Hmmmm.
I wonder if we still need government funded policies like Athena Swann that look at expanding womens participation at university?

Told about female participation rates of 57 % rising from 55%, one territory education union president said some years back
"It's moving in the right direction".

The "dating gap" data suggests that well educated women won't find well-educated husbands who can discuss the latest "chick lit" novels with them- what was that recent hit with the women called?

1, Society for Cutting Up Men. "I have been a huge fan of Valerie Solarna’s for a few years now, she is as instrumental to my radical feminism and queer theory as Beauvoir or Lorde. You don’t have to read "the whole thing", but it’s not very long so I hope I persuade you to do so by simply saying it is WORTH reading. Cant agree with all of the above. Sorry.
Some of the feminists seem always to want to find an enemy. Yet they don't seem to be supported by many women - whose concerns are feeding themselves and their families and defending them from a bigger GST, maybe.

PS
If someone who supports women is a feminist, what's someone who supports men? A humanist?

Can't we desire a society where everyone gets a fair go? Or is that too much to ask?

When you have popped out half a dozen kids and cared for them day in and day out including half the night,(with babies), for nought moneywise from society and being stood over to explain every cent spent on groceries andchildrens needs etc.by selfish men,and it was only a short 55years to 70years ago come back and give
an opinion.

Risk? millions of women died in child birth and a lot still do around the world in poor countries. Plus they have to live with their insides hanging out and no bladder control after having too many babies because of their selfish husbands. who then leave them for a
younger woman who doesn't have these problems(as yet).

Then there are the men in Africa, one in four who admit to raping innocent women and girls, that's only the ones that admit to it.
I saw this on Dateline or Four Corners not long ago.

Is it any wonder women rebelled in Western countries.
It was quite obvious to them that they were getting a very
raw deal from the men who ran the government and society.

The Western world is like a shining beacon in civilised ideals and
enlightenment in the world.

True we struggle to be the civilised, humane society we aspire to,
nevertheless, we a are streets ahead in this to most other countries
in the world. That is directly because of the sharing of power and ideas in the Western world by women.
It is the societies who oppress women that are cruel, hell holes.
Overpopulated and incapable of providing for all the mouths they need to feed. So they run to Europe in search of territorial resources
to sustain them.

It is a well researched and observed fact that in societies where women are educated and empowered.eveything changes for the better for the whole society and country. However if men are educated nothing changes because all they care about is the big sex blog that takes up so much space in the front of their brain,

There is a saying

Women are crazy
Men are stupid
Women are crazy because men are stupid

That is so true.
The stupidity of men exasperates women.
The trouble is it is always the less intelligent who fail to realise they are less intelligent.

I have found over a lifetime of observation that this is certainly true of most men I have ever met.

The big part of their brain dominated by sex, makes them handicapped
Whereas women have more brain cells available to use in more areas.

All jokes aside, I agree with your take on the Western history of female rights.
However, I do not share your obvious dislike of men in general.
There are plenty of fine men in our community who agree with equal rights for women, and I believe we would not have got where we are today without that fact.

Waverley, sorry but ALL feminists ARE communist ANTI-humanists, they are abusing innocent men & children, always have been, always will be. NO child on earth will be safe until every one of them is in jail or dead. femi-NAZI storm troopers are the people smugglers who imported FGM & islam into the land of OZ. How sick is that?

people who support men are egalitarians.

we had a society where everybody gets a fair go until women got the vote, then all hell broke loose & child abuse has been worsening ever since. feminism = child abuse & poverty creation. Their own stats show child abuse worsening over the last half century. They are just deflecting blame away from the source, themselves.

CHERFUL, oh dear, we are living in the past aren't we.

1, women died in child birth until Prince Charming the doctor solved that problem with science & men died hunting wild animals for the food women eat, in wars to PROTECT women, in work place accidents to provide for women & children you lying idiot.

2, Really, there are primitive people in third world nations abusing & killing each other, WOW, i did not know that MEN from western nations had been trying to end that misery UNTIL communist feminists stopped them.

3, women in western nations rebelled because the 1% wanted to divide & conquer the 99%. Because your brain is smaller you fell for it, have dedicated your life to child abuse & poverty creation.

4, sexual slavery is alive & well in the land of OZ today thanks to communist feminism.

5, It is a well researched and observed fact that in societies where ALL men are educated and empowered, everything changes for the better for the whole society and country. However if women are educated everything changes back to poverty because all they care about is the big shopping spree that takes up so much space in the front of their tiny brains.

We seem to be moving further and further away from some of the points poor old West made when he was reviewing a book letting men speak about what was in their hearts.

Ah well- issues of sex and sexuality (which someone started calling gender).......
They affect us all. Even domestic violence is an issue for everyone, according to a discussion in The conversation: and not just an issue heterosexual men need to address.

<there is a scientific fact that YOU have 14 billion less brain cells than i do>

Ever heard of the microchip. The big old computers are too slow
and cumbersome to keep up with the miniscule microchip.

A bullock or an elephant may have more brain cells than you do
does that mean they are smarter than you.

I am neither a feminist or a communist I'm just a woman who
knows injustice and oppression by men when I see it.

The communists and capitalists are the same, as both systems
end up with a hierarchy at the top who take the biggest share of
everything. That's human nature.
The advantage that the capitalist system has is the right to vote.
Although it provides the people with some power, it still doesn't stop
the corruption at the top.

Saving women who die in childbirth came about because of the
advances in Western society, the freedom from the oppression of
the male dominated catholic church, which if not challenged by
the public to drop their ridiculous fundamentalism, would have
stopped scientific advancement just as the male domination in
muslim countries have set their societies back centuries
by not allowing science to advance because some truth might
be uncovered that challenged the power of the imans.

our own catholic church locked Galileo up when he discovered
the earth was round and not flat, or the centre of the universe

That kind of rebuttal of their godly teachings couldn't be allowed
as it challenged their power and authority, and dare I say
the money they made by living off the donations to the church.

Also the female is the prototype for mankind. The female X chromosome contains most of the genetic program that makes a human
being where as the Y chromosome mostly determines the sex of the child
In the science labs, it's called the Eve principal.

That's why males have nipples. Why do males have unneeded nipples
that serve no purpose in them, if not for the fact that the
X chromosome is the main template for the human being.

.......continued from above,
It was pretty hard for a woman with 6 to 10 babies and children
to care for every day to go out and become a doctor.

There was no childcare for women in those times.
I'd like to have seen these men achieve all these things
with a baby and 3toddlers hanging off their student tails
and doctors coats.

Another advantage afforded them by the work of women -
that allowed them to have interesting careers and positions in
the world. Now women are achieving these things they whinge and
moan about it.

If men didn't hunt, protect and provide for their children, then what
the hell good are they to society.
Women are realising the men are more of a liability than a help
in families today, and they are getting rid of them and doing it themselves.
Even going to war.

When men vote to close down all the brothels and paid sex workers
across towns and cities then I will believe women should trust
them in a marriage.

//there is a scientific fact that YOU have 14 billion less brain cells than i do.//

Nobody has 14 billion less brain cells than you do, imadroolinghalfwit. That would give them -13,999,999,994 brain cells and a negative number of brain cells is physically meaningless.

I can point to a building site where any of those women who want to escape the clutches of 'men' who are 'forcing' them into prostitution can earn good money. There is no 'patriarchy' there, just dirty and dangerous work with plenty of overtime, whether you are paid for it or not. Just show up before 6.30am with steel capped boots and suitable clothing. The safety gear, a hard hat and high visibility vest, will be supplied, along with the training.

After being interrupted by a call about some cows dead in the mud of a dam (fenced off for safety) I can report that there is plenty of opportunity there too for any women to enjoy fresh air (well sort of, dead stock in a dam do pong) and absolutely NO patriarchy at all, never was, just turn up at the nearest farm.

There is so much work around and it is all down to individual choice. So no excuses, just go for it.

Returning to the review of the interesting book 'Inside Man'. Yes, there is a need for mens studies in universities and no, that cannot be handled satisfactorily by the present (feminist) slanted and highly unscientific gender studies units.

Q What is the best way to rile a feminist?

A Speak up for equality and mean what you say.

Cherful:
“Also the female is the prototype for mankind. The female X chromosome contains most of the genetic program that makes a human”

And what a flawed prototype it is that requires the cooperation of a man to bring it into being!

“If men didn't hunt, protect and provide for their children, then what
the hell good are they to society. Women are realising the men are more of a liability than a help
in families today, and they are getting rid of them and doing it themselves.”

The real liability are the women who are totally insecure as human beings unless they have children. There is not a woman in the world who has given birth for the good of society. Every one of them has done so because of the pressure put upon them by other women. No one with any respect for their own bodies would submit themselves freely to the pain of childbirth. The rest of society pays the price for this insecurity and the quality of life that many endure suffers because of it.

By all means have babies but let’s not pretend that it is anything other than a selfish need to appease those on whom they are emotionally dependent. Then they can begin to question the ‘usefulness’ of men

Surely not all feminists are the same? There could be some nice thoughtful ones and some uncertain ones. Nothing wrong with not being certain about everything, I guess.
The nastiest ones always seem to grab the media headlines tho.......

The boarders if definition are blurring.

The subject of this article encourages a chorus of neurotic responses of course; but show me a man that can identify a female psychopath, and I'll show you a real man, that was once a tortured boy!
Show me a woman that can identify a male psychopath, and I'll show you a woman who is under threat!

Suseonline, the passive aggressive corporate paedophile strikes again, pretending to be a moderate feminist who wants equality but continuing the misinformation & deflection. Fun fact #1, i get around a lot & less than 10% of men disagree with my low opinions about femi-NAZISM. Namely there are NO good feminists & NO Australian child will be safe until every one of them is in a labour camp for life, deported, or dead.

Waverley, enlightened, conservative, protesting, christian heterosexual men never were the cause of DV, which is femi-NAZISM & CULT-ural Marxism. https://theconversation.com/au is a communist propaganda rag & not worth following at all.

CHERFUL, sorry darling but men have more brain cells & higher IQs.

1, communism & capitalism are not the same. ALL of Australia's current crop of leaders are communists, the LNP is a well left of center Fabian Socialist party that has been conned by the communists into accepting CULT-ural Marxism.

2, corruption at the top is caused by radical, extreme, left wing religion or CULT-ural Marxism.

3, Saving women dying in childbirth came about because of advances in Western society, by the enlightened, conservative, protesting, christian white men over 50, who also would have stopped the Satanic domination in muslim countries which has set their societies back centuries by not allowing science to advance because some truth might be uncovered that challenged the power of the imams.

our own catholic church locked Galileo up when he discovered the earth was round and not flat, or the centre of the universe

That kind of rebuttal of their godly teachings couldn't be allowed as it challenged their power and authority so honest christian MEN fixed it.

Also the male is the prototype for mankind. The female X chromosome contains most of the genetic program that makes a human
being where as the Y chromosome determines the sex of the child & improves the males to provide leadership to the female sheeple.
In the science labs, it's called the larger brain & body principal.

That's why females are weaker in every way & NEED men to protect them.

It was pretty hard for a woman with 6 to 10 babies and children to care for every day to go out and become a doctor but easier for her husband to provide for them. There was also heaps of childcare for women in those times, it is called extended family, YOU IDIOTIC LIAR. I'd like to have seen these men achieve all these things with a baby and 3 toddlers hanging off their student tails and doctors coats. THEY DID YOU IDIOT, BECAUSE THEY MARRIED A WOMAN WHO CARED FOR THEIR CHILDREN WHILE THEY WENT TO WORK & BROUGHT HOME THE BACON.

Another advantage afforded them by the work of women (THAT NO MAN IS DENYING YOU IDIOT) allowed them to have interesting careers and positions in the world. Now women are failing to achieve these things, intelligent men whinge and moan about their children being neglected & abused by dead beat mothers, thanks to you.

If women didn't care for and protect our children, while we were at work, then what the hell good are they to society? Men are realising the women are more of a liability than a help in families today, and they are replacing them with nannies and doing it themselves. When men vote to keep open all the brothels and paid sex workers across towns and cities, invent sex robots & artificial wombs, then I will believe women are replaceable commodities like cars, just trade them in when they wear out.

Toni Lavis, males have larger brains, period, there are also racial, ethnic, genetic or familial brain size differences & higher IQs as well. The mean statistical male over female brain size increase is 14% or 14 billion cells. BUT if a male from a genetically larger brain size family, was married to a woman from a genetically smaller brain size family, then he might have as many as 21 billion more brain cells than her. in that marriage? who do you think should wear the pants? Grow up & get over yourself.

onthebeach, correct again.

Appeasing femi-NAZIS & those other communists on whom they are emotionally dependent is regressive. Men can always question the ‘usefulness’ of UN-co-operative useless women"

Waverley, femi-NAZIS are like Muslims & communists, there just is no such thing as a moderate or nice one. When they wake up to the truth, they cease to be feminists, muslims or communists & become a normal human being again.

onthebeach, another excellent post.

The war of the femi-NAZI psychopaths rages & surveys have shown that female psychopaths out number males by at least 7 to 1.

I think you lose a thoughtful, reasonable audience if you do any of these things:
* refer to people as Nazis (Unless they were actual members of the Nazi Party, etc)
* Write lots of your argument IN CAPITALS- it's like being shouted out and it sounds like you have trouble being noticed
* argue that "Men are......." (insert adjective such as "lazy". "Dumb", "bludgers" etc) as a gross generalisation unsupported by solid evidence
* make sweeping generalisations about Feminism- there are so many interpretations of what that includes or excludes
* don't allow people some room for doubts or uncertainties.

Just my little thoughts. These issues of sex and sexuality (which some people call "Gender") seem to affect all of us, and some seem more upset than others.

Why such defensiveness, Jardine K Jardine?

>>Pericles Your paternalistic sexist bigotry would have been less offensive if at the same time you had not been hypocritically pretending to be concerned about paternalistic sexist bigotry. But a good example of stock standard feminist modus operandi, thanks.<<

I mean, let's face it, this is not even an effective insult - I am assuming that an insult was your intention, since no other reading makes any sense.

I couldn't find anywhere in my post that could be construed as my being "concerned about paternalistic sexist bigotry", even at the level of pretence that you infer.

But hey, it must have struck some kind of chord, or you wouldn't have wasted any energy in making a response.

Just for the record, my concern was the whining, self-pitying nature of the article. I made no mention of feminism per se, just on its perceived impact on an apparently terminally fragile male psyche.

Why such defensiveness that this university course was shelved?

<University of South Australia Pulls Plug on Male Studies Program
January 14, 2014 By Paul Elam

Administration officials at the University of South Australia have essentially pulled the plug on the Male Studies initiative at that school, effectively bringing years of academic preparation to a sudden halt. The school made the decision after a flurry of false allegations were made by journalist Tory Shepherd in the online magazine Adelaide Now.

Shepherd falsely reported that the Male Studies group had ties to “hate groups,” one of them being A Voice for Men. Her article, which misleadingly suggested a connection between the Male Studies group and the A Voice for Men website, also claimed that the A Voice for Men organization had been declared a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center. That claim is false. Indeed, the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Arthur Goldwag made public statements expressing the fact that no such designation about A Voice for Men had ever been made.

The motives behind the false reporting, which also involved support from Australian ideological feminists such as Dr. Michael Flood, appears to be one of maintaining ideological control of the conversation on sex and gender, keeping it in feminist hands.

Dr. Miles Groth, one of the proponents of Male Studies at the university posted the following to the Male Studies Facebook page, as reported by the Sydney Morning Herald.

”Two years of preparation and the support of the university from the start now seem to be jeopardy because of unnamed critics making erroneous accusations. It has been known for some years now that academe is held hostage by radical ideological feminists in the humanities and social sciences, and administration, who fear them.”

The university administration changed direction and turned against the initiative after the online smear campaign.

Interestingly, Adelaide Now subsequently reported on the withdrawal of support from the university as though it was an unbiased news story. This is after they published the unsubstantiated and unsupported attacks on A Voice for Men and the Male Studies group.>

Waverley, children's lives are being put at risk by communist femi-NAZIS.
1, equating communist feminism with nazism is an insult to Hitler who is a saint compared to ALL feminists, but i do it to make the point about international socialism & national socialism being almost identical to each other as well as the fact that feminism is 100% evil.
2, i use capitals sometimes to highlight some key words for the communists who are either 100% stupid or 100% evil.
3, feminists generalize about men, then have the gall to complain about men making generalizations about women.
4, if you have any doubts or UN-certainties about a single word in any comment of mine & i will supply you with links to the well documented scientifically proven facts about Satanic feminism.

Pericles, J K J, is a libertarian & not a conservative, libertarianism is a very different ideology to both communism & classical Liberalism.

onthebeach, Tory Shepherd is an old communist from way back & even consistently supported Germaine Gillard, the worst world leader in world history.

Waverley, true, except for conservatives, who are by definition, not ideologues.

imacentristmoderate, Agree with what you say 100%.
Add to this the spread of exogenous oestrogen throughout the male world to "feminise" them. This is a good read http://www.ourstolenfuture.org/newscience/behavior/behav.htm. It was written by a women who wanted and craved a fair world. She is somebody that all women should look up too and use as a role model. The communist femi-NAZIS have spread these chemicals throughout the world as a chemical control of males. You can find out more about Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals (EDC's) from World Health Organisation, The Endocrine Society, Europe Committee on EDC's. Or just use Google Scholar and you will thousands of peer reviewed reports. How ever don't look for information in Western communist newspapers you won't find it. They don't want you to know so you'll take you "medicine" like a good little boy.

Posts on this forum are becoming increasingly bizarre.

This one from imacentristmoderate

>>Pericles, J K J, is a libertarian & not a conservative, libertarianism is a very different ideology to both communism & classical Liberalism.<<

Apart from being a statement of the bleedin' obvious, a) what does it have to do with me and b) what does it have to do with anything at all?

It may be just me, but there seems to be little appetite for discussion any more, only a place on the internet where people with opinions that are larger than their intellect can see their names in print.

Sad.

More hateful sexist bigotry from the feminists, ho hum. Perhaps you should practise what you preach some time?

Your entire argument can be boiled down to this: "Women don't get enough free favours, benefits and privileges and men should be forced to pay for them whether they consent or not."

I have already explained that your *assumption* that men and women are the same, is false, and you really need to get your head around it. Other people are not just footstools for women to climb up on, and your spewing of hate speech is not okay.

Try actually answering the arguments instead of merely reacting with an emotion-tantrum.
