By Lydia Paterson, published 22/10/2015

What this view overlooks is the fact that aged care facilities are required to meet a ratio of supported residents.

plantagenet, i am with you, this is more spin from spivs who will rip people off, skiing the children's inheritance on aged care instead of holydays.

Suseonline, correct, this is about profiteering in aged care, we are already seeing the same in the NDIS.

Plantagenet, Pete, i hear where you are coming from but poverty creation through wasteful spending has been a growth industry for about half a century now. Our children have less ability to buy homes than we did. Our grand children are heading towards REAL poverty.

Rhosty, a part of this needs to be rebuilding the extended family unit so that home care becomes more easy & affordable. Look at China, one of the few things they are doing right is suing the children of elders who won't care for them because the cost of state run nursing homes is enormous. Do we want the land of OZ to be happier, healthier & wealthier or not?

Suseonline, those family problems you complain about have been promoted by antisocial leftists in the Arts, Entertainment, Media & Education industries for half a century now. The sheeple have been trained to be shallow & greedy.

Imacentristmoderate, if you think this widespread problem has anything at all to do with politics, then you are sadly mistaken.
People from all walks of life try to rip off their elders, no doubt about that.

Suseonline, darling, elder abuse is done by many people, i have been a victim of it many times myself, especially when it comes to protecting other elders. But that is not what i said, which was that "the antisocial attitudes come from antisocial training, which is 100% left wing".

Lol! Ima... dearest....do you think 'bad' people only come from 'the left wing'?
That's a bit naive isn't it?

suseonline, that is again NOT what i said, or have ever said. The center & right are not perfect, whereas the left is 100% evil, all people on the left are either totally evil leaders or misguided, idealistic fools, many of whom who should have woken up by now.

Imacentristmoderate, so correct me if I'm wrong again this time, but by the 'evil' left, do you mean all the labor and greens supporters then?
So....ALL those people are evil then?
Do you get these feelings of paranoia very often?
